Meet Melissa Shuton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Shuton.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to help people. I got into college as a psych major and at 17, it was a bit heavy for me. So I switched to marketing and went right into the corporate world after college.

I worked in the professional and personal development industries and I learned a lot about business and myself – and am grateful for all of it…but the office life just wasn’t for me.

After a little over a decade, I transitioned from full-time corporate life into a more mission-driven career, with a focus on helping people create their happiest lives…with a side gig as a freelance marketing manager.

I became a Health Coach, helping people change their habits to improve their health and lose weight. And after a couple of years, I realized that I loved coaching and seeing the results my clients achieved – and I wanted to be able to offer more.

Through one of my freelance gigs, I met this amazing woman who eventually became my teacher in the Law of Attraction. I was proofreading one of her webinars and came across a simple manifestation technique for increasing financial abundance. I tried it – and within a couple of weeks, I attracted two new freelance marketing clients…and I wasn’t even looking!

Needless to say, I was sold. I signed up for her Law of Attraction Coaching Certification program. And a month after I started, I received a partial scholarship for Yoga Teacher Training – again, out of nowhere – and with some of my favorite teachers! At the time, I was feeling a lack of community – and this is how the universe responded. I just love how that works.

Today, I use all of this experience and training as a Transformational Life Coach and Yoga Therapist (in-training). I empower women to release limiting beliefs, heal, and create the life of their dreams, using the Chakra system, yoga philosophy and practice, the Law of Attraction, and energy healing.

And I absolutely love what I do!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has definitely had its ups and downs and some turns here and there.

Working for yourself has so many perks, but it has its challenges as well. The income can be uncertain, there are no health benefits, no paid time off for vacation or sick days, and it can get lonely or overwhelming as a one-woman show.

But my passion for helping people outweighs all of that. And I’m reminded of this during every session I have with my clients. Watching them grow and make transformations in their lives is what keeps me on this road.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a Transformational Life Coach and Yoga Therapist (in-training), I empower women to release limiting beliefs, heal, and create the life of their dreams, using the Chakra system, yoga philosophy and practice, the Law of Attraction, and energy healing.

There are plenty of life coaches out there…plenty of yoga teachers…and plenty of energy healers…but not many – if any – who employ the same knowledge, experience, and skillset that I have. I have a wide variety of tools in my toolbox, allowing me to be intuitive with my coaching…to tailor what I have to offer for each person I work with.

I had a client who came to me to lose weight – she did, but what was most remarkable for her was that by working with me, she improved her relationships with her mom, her teenage daughter…and herself.

Another client signed up to work with me because she wanted to heal her chakras – specifically the heart – and needed direction in her career. After working with me, she attracted a job she loves with a boss she loves. And she healed and opened her heart, which brought an old flame back into her life.

And if I can share about one more client… she came to me suffering of anxiety, depression, and grief. After just a couple of sessions with me, she was better able to express her emotions, felt more comfortable being in her body (and out of her head), and her mood had improved.

I am here to help. And I offer various techniques and create a sacred space for my clients to receive and release what’s needed to heal – and live their happiest and healthiest lives.
