Meet Nave Guedj

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nave Guedj.

Nave, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m a singer, songwriter born and resides in Israel. I currently taking my first steps in the music industry, and just released my FIRST “EP” English pop singles: O C E A N.

I’m 24 yo, grew up in a small Kibbutz in northern Israel, and I have been singing since childhood. Growing up in a quiet pastoral agricultural environment inspired me, enriched my soul. In addition, I was surrounded by a musical family. My father is a musician himself, and he has exposed me to various sounds and melodies. Also, my studies in a professional music school were somewhat inevitable-‘Rimon school of music’.

Since an early age, I have been singing and creating songs in English in various styles such as Soul, R&B and POP. My influence are some of the greatest female vocal artists like Adele, Alicia Keys, Aretha Franklin, Eta James, Lauren Hillel and more. Recently I perform with an incredible band over the country and launching the first E.P out there.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In the middle of the process of recording the singles (one and Half year ago), I broke my left leg. It was a work accident. As a music student, I worked as a waitress. I slipped and my ankle broke. I underwent two surgeries and a bone-grafted transplant. And today I stand and walk thank God. But with a lot of pain and with a disability to stand on stage for a long time.

Although I’m moving forward and trying to see it as a challenge rather than an obstacle.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I’m a singer-songwriter and a performer. I’m known as a singer woe create her own songs. Both in English and Hebrew. I’m most proud to release and to launch my first small album, mostly to perform with it, in front of an audience with my band. Hear the songs on radio stations and public places. It’s very exciting and overwhelming for me.

What sets me apart from others is singing my heart up. About my own life experiences. With a desire to make people connect and be identified with the Contents.

What were you like growing up?
As a kid, I was a tomboy. I Loved playing football with the boys. I grew up in a small settlement in the north of the country. And I worked in the cowshed for a long time.

Being kind of isolated and away from the ״big city״ (I think) created my discovery and ability to write songs all this time that I was quite”alone”.

Also, at the age of 20, I was sent to be a music instructor in the Jewish community in the United States, Rhode Island. Which was an incredible experience for me especially as a songwriter. It gave me so much inspiration coming from Israel to the United States.
