Meet Oscar and Dawn Andalon and Chris Ingstad of Level4 Physio-Wellness-Performance

Today we’d like to introduce you to Oscar and Dawn Andalon and Chris Ingstad.

Oscar, Dawn, and Chris please share your story with us.
We opened in 2016, inside of a gym, in a small 180 square foot office in Carlsbad, CA and we are one of the fastest growing clinics that specializes in helping people to KEEP active AND maintain mobility and independence. Dr. Oscar Andalon and I (Dr. Ingstad), Co-Founders, were on a mission to change the way healthcare is done, by getting back to the roots when given the opportunity to serve others. And by the end of 2016, it was evident that we needed a strong female practitioner, and brought on partner Dawn Andalon. Each of us has a niche that we are passionate about and work very hard to provide service to those clients.

Frankly, we are a little concerned about the medical profession, and how we quickly just hand out pain medications for everything. In fact, we are FIRMLY against “PAINKILLERS” as a long-term solution!! Any solution you get from our team will be 100% NATURAL and should make a difference QUICKLY. Let’s face it, out medical system is broken and cycles people in and out, regardless of what is best for the person. So we advocate for our clients, often going with them to doctors’ visits and asking questions to be sure we have all the answers to help the client make the best decision about their healthcare.

We strive to make our patients leave EVERY session feeling very confident and clear about what’s going to happen next – we’re NOTHING like some other PT clinics who like to just “see how it goes” …. when you leave EACH visit with us, you will know exactly where we are headed and what must be done (…and by whom!) moving forward, to reach their goals.

Everything we do is for our clients!! Our clients are the reason we are here, and are the reason we do what we do. We promise we will do everything humanly possible to honor your time, and make experience here as fun, enjoyable and productive as possible. We like to have fun, and so do our clients!!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road for us… As a team, we have had to learn how to effectively communicate with each other and have trust in each of us to do our roles.

We have had to learn a lot about marketing and sales, as we were never given these in physical therapy school. We target directly to consumers, rather than begging for referrals from physicians, so making sure you say the right words to help consumers make the best decision about their health. We have also learned to step above our own personal fears and to not let it hold us back within our business.

Level4 Physio-Wellness-Performance – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a specialty physical therapy clinic that specializes in helping people aged 30+ who want to be active by easing pain and stiffness, without painkillers or risking surgery… to restore or maximize their active and healthy lifestyle. We are known for giving one-on-one, high quality physical therapy services and an experience unlike anything else.

We are not contracted with any insurance companies which means that are able to give our clients whatever they need rather than what the insurance company allows us to do. We are guarantee our clients are happy with our services or they get their money back. We are the only clinic in San Diego that offers a satisfaction money back guarantee.

We see the self-pay model expanding exponentially over the next 5-10 years. People will soon realize that the insurance based model is largely ineffective for a lot of services and people are willing to self-pay for quality services that give results.

With the insurance based model, practitioners are experiencing declining reimbursements and increasing costs. To offset this, most are increasing the number of patients. This leads to decreased quality of care and poorer outcomes. Additionally, the personnel required to support this model is expensive, leading to even greater demand to generate revenue.

Physical therapy is helping people to stay active safely and lowering the risk of injuries. Physical therapy is taking on the aspect of wellness to continue helping people embrace several aspects of fitness, so they can remain active and mobile to do whatever brings meaning to their life.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Physical therapy is helping people to stay active safely and lowering the risk of injuries. Physical therapy is taking on the aspect of wellness to continue helping people embrace several aspects of fitness, so they can remain active and mobile to do whatever brings meaning to their life. Success is defined by each client that we help attain their specific goal.
