Meet Peter Stark of Peter Barron Stark Companies in Rancho Bernardo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Peter Stark.

Peter, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
For 9 years, I owned a commercial printing company (1980-1989) At the same time, I taught leadership at SDSU in the Certificate of Leadership and Management programs in the College of Extended Studies. On year 7 of owning a printing company, I found my calling was speaking, teaching and consulting. In 1989, I started Peter Barron Stark Companies, Inc. We are a consulting firm that helps corporate clients build a culture where employees LOVE to come to work and their clients love to do business with them.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a smooth road along the way. In the Great Recession, I had to let several employees go. This was one of the most difficult times of my life. Although our employee size has decreased over the last 10 years, we are a lot more efficient, productive and profitable with less employees.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Peter Barron Stark Companies, Inc. story. Tell us more about the business.
