Meet Randy Zimnoch of Realty National in Pacific Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Randy Zimnoch.

Randy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born in Poland and moved with my family to New Jersey at age 11 – without speaking a word of English. I learned English in school and was the first of my family to go to college and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. After college, I took an internship with a real estate redevelopment company in Connecticut named CT Homes, which launched my real estate career. I started a real estate investing company in NJ and got licensed as a real estate agent. Then, I partnered with the owners of CT Homes and moved to Pacific Beach to grow their investing business in San Diego. Since then, we’ve re-developed hundreds of homes.

In 2011, we launched Realty National Inc, the real estate brokerage in Pacific Beach. At first, our intentions were to control our own marketing and save money on the properties we renovate and sell. Fast forward to now, the brokerage has organically grown to over 60+ agents in our Pacific Beach location and we have collectively impacted nearly 1,000 families here in San Diego.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The Real Estate brokerage industry is not considered a ‘friendly’ industry. I quickly realized the cut-throat mentality of brokers recruiting agents from other companies without concern of impact this transition and up-rooting has on the brokerage and individual agent’s career. That drove me to focus my time on developing a culture that is very family oriented with core values that communicate clearly who we are and who we want to attract. Our family-like culture of the office means each agent has the support of the entire Reality National team and access to each team member’s strengths such as marketing, negotiation tactics and neighborhood-specific knowledge. This supportive environment attracts high quality agents and encourages the growth of everyone’s career through teamwork. The positive culture we’ve created is not the norm in this industry, yet, I strongly believe, it’s one of the main reasons why our agents have stayed with us for years and continue to prosper in this community.

Realty National – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Reality National leads investors and retail clients through the home buying and selling experience with our robust marketing system, off-market properties, and strategic negotiation skills. Our goal is to ease the stress from our clients so they can enjoy this life-changing moment through communication, transparency and systems.

The biggest thing that sets Reality National apart is our partnership with CT Homes from A&E’s hit TV show “Flip This House” and our sister company FortuneBuilders, an Inc 500 real estate educational giant. These strategic relationships allow us to remain the nation’s most investor-friendly brokerage with over 30% of our business from repeat investors.

Sellers are impressed by the marketing system we’ve created to maximize exposure and provide detailed weekly reports which show exactly what the agents are doing to support the sale. Buyers love being able to see “off-market properties” and submit an offer on their dream home without getting into a bidding war. Investors appreciate our creative negotiation style that makes every dollar count. Agents succeed within our family-like culture that shares knowledge, ideas, contacts, and information easily between team members.

We are most proud of our charitable contributions to our community. A portion of each transaction is collected towards the Realty National Gives program. Over the years, we have donated thousands of dollars to organizations such as Ronald McDonald House of San Diego, Padres Pedal for a Cause, and Urban Street Angels to name a few.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least about our city?
When I moved from the east coast to Pacific Beach in 2010, it became my goal to live on the bay. Finally, in 2013, I found the perfect place with a bay view in Crown Point and have enjoyed it ever since. Everyone is active, enjoying the outdoors year-round. It inspires me to live life the way it’s meant to be lived and to help others do the same.
