Today we’d like to introduce you to Reiko Spivak.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Reiko. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After I moved to San Diego from Connecticut with my family 5 years ago, I wanted to teach choreography dance class again. I started with a very small class and the classes gradually grew. I saw everyone make progress with their moves and become a dance lovers community.
My class has various age groups and levels of dancers, this is exactly what I visioned when I started to teach. A lot of stimulations for our brains and bodies, but no intimidation or judgement in my class.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
So far it has been going well.
Please tell us about Cardio Funk with Reiko.
I teach a choreography dance class by breaking steps piece by piece and gradually put them together with nonstop music (I use DJ App system for class ). Use many of old-school R&B, Funk & Hip Hop and mix up with new. Instead of just dancing routines over and over, I watch each student carefully and give them little tips to get be a dancer & performer.
