Today we’d like to introduce you to Reyna Sandoval.
Hi Reyna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hi! I’m Reyna Sandoval, founder of ShopSauvvy.com. The idea of Sauvvy came to life in the summer of 2020 when I had a deep desire to rekindle my lifelong love affair with the world of fashion. I’d been craving creativity, and fashion has always been an art to me, so I faced my fears about starting a boutique for the third time. Equally terrified and thrilled, I finally decided to just go for it.
My love for fashion began at an early age. One of my earliest memories is insisting on only wearing dresses, and they had to twirl when I spun around. In high school, when I insisted on wearing a new dress to school every day, my dad (bless his heart) would take me to the mall on a weekly basis. After graduation, I studied fashion business and merchandising at Fashion Careers College in San Diego and dreamed of becoming a fashion forecaster or a buyer that would travel the world hunting down the latest fashion trends. With a diploma in hand, I worked various jobs in fashion. I even started two boutiques prior to Sauvvy that didn’t work out. I still had a vision of something greater that gave me an outlet to express my style – that is how Sauvvy came into fruition.
Built by me from the ground up, I’ve put my heart and soul into every detail of this shop, and every aspect has been placed with intention. (The name of my business, Sauvvy- pronounced SAW-VEE, is actually an abbreviation of my favorite wine, Sauvignon Blanc.) My goal for Sauvvy is to create a shop for women like me, women that are relentless at chasing their dreams by any means necessary and do so in the most fabulous outfits. Not only do I want to share my love for clothes, but also tell a raw romance story about my heart, passions and the life I’m chasing. My inspiration has come from countless hours I’ve spent indulging in my favorite things: wine, travel, shopping, and love songs. This shop represents my past, my present, and my future, with fashion and music – sharing a part of my sensitivity and soul. I wanted to make Sauvvy so personal and unique, so I sourced each piece with careful consideration in hopes that you’ll wear them on your wild adventures, special celebrations, and memorable life moments.
Sauvvy is for the global trendsetters who keep it simple, are effortlessly cool, and forever hopeless romantics. We make it easy to find dreamy staple pieces with that pop of style and grace. As Sauvvy continues to grow, I’m committed to always evolve but maintain this timeless concept.
This store has given my life a whole new meaning and purpose. It’s been a magical experience bringing this dream to life. I’ve wanted this so bad for so long! I hope Sauvvy will speak to your wildest dreams like it does to mine.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
You always hope for the smooth road, or at least I do, but that is hardly ever the case. Although I’ve had my fair share of thorns along the way, I don’t think I would be as proud of my boutique without them.
My biggest struggle has been trying to do it all on my own, but that is next to impossible. When I first made the commitment to bring my vision to life, I searched on YouTube and googled everything. I thought I could be the photographer, buyer, model, web designer, accountant, social media expert, marketing queen, SEO expert – the list goes on. Luckily, I found the perfect creatives. Outsourcing was the best thing I did for my business. I couldn’t have made Sauvvy without Paige Bowen, a San Diego photography queen, Brielle Eaton, THE Shopify expert and Marisa DeLao, a marketing genius.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m the heart and soul behind ShopSauvvy.com. Building an online boutique has been a long-term goal of mine, and it feels like a dream come true to have finally brought it to life. The day-to-day operations change constantly and ever since launching May 1st. My biggest focus has been to bring in quality inventory and to spread the word about Sauvvy.
As of right now, when I’m shopping for Sauvvy, I keep falling in love with beautiful dresses – so I would like to say that we specialize in unique dresses you’d want to wear on your special night out or long-awaited European vacation. The dream is that girls choose ShopSauvvy.com as their go-to store when looking for that jaw-dropping dress that makes them feel confident and beautiful.
I’m most proud of the vulnerability that this process has brought out of me. It felt so scary to share my style and heart but I felt extremely compelled to do so. I’m not one to be all over social media, but since launching Sauvvy, I’ve really put myself out there – something that used to terrify me. (Still does at times) I feel so thankful to have such an amazing support system that has showed SO MUCH love and support. The support continues to motivate me.
I think what really sets Sauvvy apart from the competition is that so much love is put into every buying decision and we carry the most unique, beautiful dresses that make you feel like the best version of yourself. Every piece on the website is my personal style – dresses and tops that I choose to wear in my everyday life. My hope is that my store can also inspire women – at any age- to go after their dream no matter what the circumstances.
