Meet Robert Manni

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Manni.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I moved to San Diego in late 2019 from NYC and have never looked back. I love this city and surrounding areas, the people, the energy and vibe, the food, and the proximity to the coast, mountains and desert. It’s a very different experience after living in Manhattan’s high-octane energy for three decades.

After a successful career in advertising and marketing some of the world’s most recognizable brands, I switched my priorities to living out this fantasy I’d always had, and it quickly turned into my calling. Ever since I was a boy, I’d dream of hosting my own radio show and writing books to help people live their best lives. So, I started by writing my novel, THE GUYS’ GUY’S GUIDE TO LOVE. When it was published, I was thrilled when critics called it “the men’s successor to ‘Sex and the City'”. I guess all the years of single living paid off! Soon after, I launched a top-rated blog at robertmanni.com and began my podcast to help men and women thrive and grow. It’s blossomed to my weekly primetime Guy’s Guy Radio show on KCAA in So Cal, a podcast on over thirty worldwide platforms, and my new Guy’s Guy TV YouTube channel. I’ve now interviewed over 600 fascinating guests from the worlds of Hollywood, NY Times best-selling authors, respected spiritual teachers, experts in diet and wellness, sports, business and more.

Since relocating to San Diego, things have really taken off. Each week I have fun yet informative conversations with some of the world’s leading thinkers and change-makers. I have a growing global platform to present new ideas, raise consciousness, and help men evolve. I’m about to celebrate my 500th show with a celebrated Hollywood legend as my guest (I won’t mention names, so I guess you’ll just have to tune in to find out…LOL!) Things could not be better, and I love everything San Diego has to offer.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As with any new undertaking, challenges are par for the course. For a new podcast especially, gaining credibility in an increasingly crowded field is the most important factor for validating a show. In the early stages of any brand launch, credibility and proof of concept are more important than how big your audience is or how much money you’re making. In my case, the quality of my guests was essential, and as I had a new show, I needed publicists who would get to know me and send me the right guests. This understandably took some time. However, because I focused on presenting a quality show with useful and interesting information for both men and women, Guy’s Guy Radio has been on the fast track for attracting the right guests. My audience is growing and becoming more and more diverse.

Another challenge I continue to face is finding the right platforms for my show. I am constantly adding new outlets where the audience can find me such as terrestrial radio, podcast platforms, or YouTube.

Finally, beyond gaining credibility is the need for patience, a willingness to stay with my vision while at the same time allowing the show and brand to grow organically to suit the needs of my audience. Fortunately, I am now able to invite terrific, relevant, and informative guests for the kinds of conversations we can only hope to have at any dinner party or get together—or remember these cocktail parties! Lucky for me, the word gets around that Guy’s Guy Radio is a great place to showcase information that helps people live their best lives in a safe, fun environment.

I treat my audience and guests with respect, and they do the same. It’s a great situation as my show and brand blossom across the globe.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Guy’s Guy Radio is a radio show, podcast, and YouTube channel (Guy’s Guy TV). It’s a place where men and women can be at their best and everyone wins. The show airs twice weekly in primetime on KCAA radio in SoCal where it can reach nine million listeners. The podcast of the show is available worldwide on more than thirty platforms such as Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio, Spotify, and our new YouTube channel, Guy’s Guy TV. I have interviewed over 600 of the world’s top talents from Hollywood, sports, spirituality, wellness, diet, NY Times best-selling authors, and many others. You can also find my novel, THE GUYS’ GUY’S GUIDE TO LOVE, a fun, romantic comedy heralded as “the men’s successor to ‘Sex and the City'” on Amazon or my website, Robert Manni.com.

What sets me and my work apart from others in my field? I believe that no one is doing what I am doing; and that is creating shows and content without drama and conflict that help both men and women evolve and grow. The focus is on keeping things authentic and real, but positive, and it’s working! I feel blessed to have a wonderful way to serve. I’m having a blast learning from some of the planet’s top thinkers while building a growing audience of people looking for new information, insights, and solutions. It’s been a very educational and rewarding experience, and I get to chat it up with lots of cool, smart people.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
If you have patience, an open mind, and a passion for the work, anything is possible. Dreams are often vanquished by distractions, negativity, and finding reasons to give up. For me, if you have an idea, you believe in and the right intention, good things happen if you give it time. You might have to make some tweaks along the way, but the right ideas really do stand the test of time. I’ve learned that people have a lot more power than they think they do. So, saddle up, believe in yourself, and start that adventure…like a Guy’s Guy!
