Meet Sarah Lemke of Sarah Lemke Cosmetic Tattoo in Costal

Today we’d like to introduce you to sarah lemke.

sarah, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Taking it back two decades, my first job was selling Avon door to door at age 13. Knock knock, Avon calling. I was beyond timid and shy, I still managed to do pretty well considering and thought it was just about the greatest thing. We can call it… early age hustle.

Fast forward 20 years. Extensive training and education in tattoo, mixed with a beauty and art background brings me full circle back as a cosmetic tattoo artist and loving every moment of it. I have always stayed one foot involved in the beauty industry, but coming to a place of true passion within it is unmeasurable.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There have absolutely been some bumps in the road. I embrace and am grateful for the uncomfortable zones, It promotes growth. You are always faced with challenges starting a business/brand from ground up. There is the behind the scenes aspect of it that goes beyond having a talented hand and artful eye. Running a one man or (woman) show in my case is just that, there is one person to wear many hats! Accounting, legalities, product investment and research, continued education and marketing, but I wouldn’t trade a second of it. As a smart business woman, you should know the ends and outs of every aspect of your business. I am glad I started small. It is a lot of hustle and you can’t cheat the hustle.

Also, it’s to a degree, uncharted territory. It’s a new generation of permanent cosmetics. Permanent cosmetics in the past…there has been a broken stigma. Now, path leaders in the industry have worked hard to turn and reverse that. We now have amazing machines, pigments, inks, technique and tools, producing exceptional work if you are versed in those areas.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Sarah Lemke (S L) Cosmetic Tattoo – what should we know?
Sarah Lemke Cosmetic Tattoo offers a range of permanent cosmetic procedures. When you book at my studio, you get me as your artist from beginning to end. I specialize in microblading, powder fill brows, full brow reconstruction, lip tints (lip tattoo..natural, pouty and filled out) and soon to introduce scalp reconstruction for the gentleman.

I have clocked hours of training, education, shadowing other artist and never ending practice and technique. I use top quality machines, products, tools and my studio is sterile.

I am know for natural eyebrows tattoos and lip enhancements, adding to the beauty my client comes in with. With microblading (or any procedure), it is not a one size fits all. Every stroke is tailored to each client. I follow my clients hair pattern, adding fluff and structure. With a full range knowledge of color theory, my clients leave with perfect colored brows, based off of their skin, undertones and hair color. The tattoo with fade natural, no blue, pink or discolored brows.

My moto is: Nobody should ever look at your eyebrows and say “Nice eyebrow tattoo’ ..they should say you have amazing eyebrows.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
So many groundbreaking artist. Daria Chuprys, Tina Davies, Tracie Giles. Their dedication to art, people and game changing the cosmetic tattoo industry is continuously paving a way for new talent, building education and setting standards. HOI Tattoo, Studio Sashiko and AG Cosmetic Studio are some of my favorite Instagram follows..so business savy and talented. Jeanee, founder of NaturaLook in San Diego is a wealth of knowledge in the industry and she has been beyond generous with sharing and shadowing.

Grateful to my “people circle” for just being there when they were and how they were there. Also, the brave souls that were my beginning guinea pigs! They all know who they are.
