Meet Shannon Henry of Studio Carre Photographie in Solana Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shannon Henry.

Shannon, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Studio Carré Photographie came to life in 2008 and is actually a family name. Although the company is approaching its 10th year, I was working previously as a photographer…formerly with an agency as well as on my own. Since my childhood, the arts in many forms has always intrigued me. After my first experience with photography in high school, the process began to unravel and reveal itself to me more. What originally began as a new hobby quickly became a full-time passion in which I now feel at home with and find exciting to share with the world.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being a small business owner is a constant hustle, so it’s not always a smooth road! The struggles are various, but I put my head down and trudge through it and learn what I don’t already know. I’m happy to be connected with other photographers as well to bounce ideas off.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My studio represents modern weddings, fashion, corporate and special events, family and lifestyle photography, as well as intimate boudoir photography.

I pride myself on being a small boutique studio that gives personalized attention to each one of my sophisticated and specialized clientele and I work closely with each one to ensure a great experience.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I feel like I was very introverted. Involving myself in the arts helped me to come out of my shell and find ways to express myself, my ideas. It was great to finally find a way to reveal the ‘real’ me…
