Meet Sherri Starr & Jessie Cox of StarrCox

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherri Starr & Jessie Cox.

Hi Sherri & Jessie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Jessie: It was during the Covid lockdown, and major back pain had me stuck in bed with my laptop reading through one of the many FB groups I’m a part of. I was noticing how many questions were going unanswered. Group members were really frustrated, having invested so much money in various coaching programs only to hear “crickets” when they had questions. My customer service background in 2 major startups made it impossible to sit by and watch people struggle, so I jumped in and started answering people’s questions. I even hopped on calls with some of them to help out, even though I wasn’t getting paid to do that.

I had a realization: “Coaches are not getting the support they need to build their businesses and I want to do something about it.”

Sherri: That’s the day Jessie texted me with her idea, and within a day or so, we teamed up to reinvent the way that coaches receive support. Who would have thought when we met a year earlier at a mastermind, that we would find ourselves launching our first live virtual 3-day summit, creating an LLC, a thriving membership for coaches, and do-it-with-you services to bring their unique vision of their business to life. It’s so cool to see how this has all developed so organically.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Jessie: The Entrepreneur journey is rarely smooth. There are always some surprises along the way. The key is to have a solid plan and a great partner like Sherri.

I can say that it wasn’t really a struggle but more of a wake-up call when creating our first live 3-day summit, we realized that we 100% underestimated what it would take to create and host that event. We ended up needing a few more months and a team to execute the high-quality live event we had in mind. It was worth it because it was a nearly flawless event!

Sherri: Oh, yes, we did have one struggle about a year in, when we were ready to scale our business. We interviewed some marketing teams and chose one despite some red flags we saw but ignored. The next couple months were super stressful and we were so disappointed with the team we chose. We ended that engagement (luckily got our investment back) and vowed to NEVER ignore red flags again. Time wasted was painful, but we are always learning! And I agree… having a great partner like Jessie helps! (Did you notice we are huge fans of each other? LOL)

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We believe that building a coaching or consulting business does not have to be a solo-struggle.

The problem is most coaches and consultants spend years trying to DIY their business, feeling frustrated, stuck, alone, and not making the impact or income they really want.

There are so many decisions that could either make or break a business (like niche, messaging, selling, technology, marketing, products, pricing) and not having someone to guide and brainstorm with is what leaves so many highly passionate and skilled new business owners giving up on their dream.

The truth? You don’t have to wait until you’re making 6 figures (or spend 6 figures) to get real hands-on support from REAL HUMANS who have been there…to put all the pieces in place for your business to succeed faster and with way more fun.

That’s why we’re on a mission to take away the heavy lifting and literally craft those pieces WITH you so you can have a profitable coaching or consulting business you love (without breaking the bank).

Our clients have dubbed us “the dynamic duo” because they have BOTH of us involved in their business, providing more brainpower, eyes, computers, and hands to get more done in each session.

We are most proud of the heartfelt gratitude our clients have for the care and attention they get from us as we partner up with them to make their business real. The happy tears, happy dances, and high-fives are so rewarding as we watch them finally have the business they envisioned when they started.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is defined by:

1.) consistent progress toward goals (personally, for our clients, and in our business)

2.) the depth of true joy we feel each day (rather than postponing our joy for future days when we hit big milestones).

Pricing:

  • $47/month for our group coaching membership “The Collective”. We created an accessible way for coaches to make progress with live support and a community that truly cares about each other
  • For private coaching, prices vary depending on where you’re starting and what you’d like to accomplish together
