Meet Shlomit Azolay of Shlomit Azolay Hair Salon in Del Mar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shlomit Azolay.

Shlomit, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My love story started when I was 14 years old. Ialways used to play with my friends hair in my house, blow dry and style. As we get older I started doing hair color as well. When I was 16, I started working in a retail store and slowly own retail stores got to fashion show and was doing complete styling, clothing and hair.

I served the Israeli army and moved to California, few weeks later I had opportunity to open a salon in Solana beach that called shampoo too. Hair is an art. I love doing hair. Hair is part of my life.

Over the years I participate in hair shows, fashion shows, and editorial… In June 2017, I had my hair show that left the audience speechless. A year ago I decided to relocate and moved to Del Mar, CA.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It was a smooth road, the only struggle that I had when I moved from Israel, when you relocate from another country – different language. Different humor. You have to start building your clientele from the beginning, and share with them your unique technique
