Meet Stacey Triplow of Beauty by Stacey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Triplow.

Stacey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My first soiree into makeup and hair started pretty young as I used to dance competitively growing up. So I pretty much had to do my own makeup and hair everyone competition (of course with the help of my mom). I love it so much that I even used to “practice” hair and makeup on my after school teacher. I mean, can you imagine this elementary school aged girl doing hair and makeup on a teacher? Thank goodness, she trusted in me enough that I wouldn’t make her look like Mimi from “The Drew Carey Show.”

Fast forward to working age, makeup and hair was always my creative outlet from my 9-5. I held a lot of sales jobs, which I absolutely disliked, and the artistry was my way to escape my mundane job. I remember quite distinctly that every time I did do makeup (and hair), it was always more of an editorial look – more natural, enhancing, every day. It did take me a while to fall into bridal, though. But once I started, it took it and ran with it!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Hardly anything is a smooth road. I think the struggles are what shapes us into who we are today. I think, if anything, the processing of learning and relearning has been constant. Especially in the industry that I’m in now (bridal), it’s consistently learning to work with different clients, matching different energies, something deciphering what a client wants through limited explanation. Then doing that week after week.

Please tell us about Beauty by Stacey.
Beauty by Stacey is an on location bridal hair and makeup team that specializes in weddings and special events. I think the one thing I am most proud about with my company is the relationships I’ve built with the artists that I can call my team. Everyone is not only super talented, but also very professional, humble and just all around a good person.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Probably would have started earlier 🙂
