Meet Tashawna Mack of La Farfalla

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tashawna Mack.

Tashawna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
So la Farfalla means “The butterfly” in Italian which symbolizes rebirth… resurrection, hope, change, faith & endurance in life. I moved to San Diego two years ago from Baltimore, where I completely gave up and lost everything I had, and I mean EVERYTHING. I was getting out of a horrible relationship that almost cost me my life in several ways.

I was broken, I was broke, lost, hurt & just didn’t know what or who I was or was to become. I moved here based of a friend from high school who said I would “love it” just to be lied to, left high & dry out on the streets homeless and having to figure out life on my own! I made it with $100 and a dream I truly was covered by gods grace! So my motto is “The beauty of life’s emerging soul” So my brand is for women who are growing in life… rebuilding themselves channeling her inner beauty, strengthening her mind, fueling her SOUL.

The one who doesn’t need to be seen but when she walks into the room you catch her vibes from her glow… her outpour of inner energy and higher power. My brand is for the women learning self-love and changing and evolving in life’s challenges and ready to grow from what she has had to go through.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No! My road has been one of the roughest. I should have broke, I should have stopped, I should have given up a while ago, but I DIDNT! I started this company when I was unemployed (was assaulted by the company owners drunken daughter) because I was tired I was done with trying to make others see my potential and paying me my worthwhile not ever being satisfied.

From being attacked on my job, my dad relapsing to drugs my mom almost losing EVERYTHING because she is on disability and my dad just was not able to be saved, she almost gave up my little sister!!!! I suffer from depression anxiety and PTSD from Severe car accidents the death of my brother just one crazy life growing up, but I didn’t let any of that stop me.

Instead I pushed through it ALL I cried endlessly walked miles late nights early morning bus commutes to get ANY & EVERYWHERE lugging my clothes thru the LA streets arm sore feet swollen not even shopping for clothes in season because I had to learn on my own no guidance on what to do or how to operate a successful clothing boutique, but I did it, and I learned and this year will be better than last!

Please tell us about La Farfalla.
With La Farfalla we are an online Clothing Boutique that sells wholesale clothing items, make and design custom clothing, provide wardrobes for photo shoots and special events but most importantly it’s a women’s empowerment movement that helps others to grow and see their fullest potential and beauty.

I have helped several women push themselves to new limits discover who they are and truly see the beauty in themselves and life! So that is what sets me apart from other clothing boutiques because it’s not just about buying clothes it’s about helping the flawed girl feel flawlessly beautiful to feel unapologetic and to show her crown because we are all true queens!

What has been the proudest moment of your career so far?
My proudest moment was starting because, in reality, that’s the hardest part! So many people dream and don’t do because it’s never the right time, or the timing has to be perfect but no my proudest moment was when I JUMPED! I took a leap of faith to believe in myself when I literally had nothing, and that truly was the best feeling ever!
