Meet Teresa Webb of Rickety Swank Vintage Rentals & Industrial Farm Tables in Murrieta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teresa Webb.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Teresa. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We are a boutique-style rental company located in Murrieta in the heart of Southern California. I, Teresa, am the face of our rental business and my amazing husband Randy is my catch all, mover, builder and idea supporter. Antique dealers by heart, we retired from working over 20 years in the corporate business world to live a life of freedom and turn our hobby business into a lifestyle.

Our vision of buying and selling antiques at local vintage markets turned into a fun and unique event rental business. We maintain an inventory of gorgeous furniture and decor pieces that can be used to create fun and eclectic spaces. From styled photography sessions, bridal showers, milestone parties to weddings, our fun collection contains the details to assist our clients in bringing their vision to life.

Fortunately we are centrally located here in Southern California. With gorgeous weather and a booming wedding industry our rental business flourished in the 3.5 years we have been in business.

We are very honored to be a part of so many special moments and events and blessed to be surrounded by the things we love.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Well nothing in life is simple and easy. One of the hardest parts of being self-employed is learning to balance family and personal time with the needs and demands of our business.

Our two biggest challenges are managing growth and keeping up with the all of the administrative duties behind the scenes. We started our business in the basement of our home in Fallbrook. With our love for beautiful antique furniture and the desire to own every treasure we come across our rental inventory quickly out grew our basement and flowed into the garage. Then we moved on to build a 600 sq. foot barn on our property, which we out grew shortly after moving in. Early spring we introduced industrial farm tables to our inventory and we took the plunge to move our business into a commercial space in Murrieta. So, to say that our business is a constant move is 100% on point.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Rickety Swank Vintage Rentals & Industrial Farm Tables – what should we know?
A little bit about us, we love digging through dirty, dingy and rickety old junk in search for treasures that can be brought back into the world. We enjoy history and love stories from the past.  After years of buying and selling we decided to keep some of our wonderful treasures and start our rental business.

We provide basic rentals, where a bride or event stylist provides us with a list of rentals they are looking for so they can create a magical space.  Or we also offer styling services where we spend time learning about our client’s vision for their wedding or special event and we put together fun and unique designs to bring their vision to life.

Some of our most popular set ups are lounge spaces and designer sweetheart tables. We also offer cute furniture pieces that can be used as cake tables, dessert bars, welcome tables and more. Lots of mixed decor pieces, guest seating and fun signage.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
To say that we owe a lot of credit to our friends in the wedding industry is an understatement. Luckily for us we were able to hit the ground running in the wedding world by meeting and building relationships with so many amazing wedding professionals, other small business owners themselves, we really owe a lot to our loyal friends in the industry for the love and support they have given us along this journey.
