Today we’d like to introduce you to Todd Armstrong.
Todd, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up in Northern Kentucky near Cincinnati Ohio but Joined the US Navy in 1986 and continued through almost 23 years and retired in 2003. I’ve always had the entrepreneur spirt since a young age. While I was still Active duty I decided to get my Real Estate license by the encouragement of my original real estate mentor and top producing broker, Bill Contreras. I have to say I owe a lot to Bill for teaching me the ropes of selling high end real estate.
After meeting Bill in another business venture, I remember him asking me, “I noticed you have your PHD so I thought you would be perfect for real estate.” I said, “I don’t have a PHD.”……Bill replies, “Yes you do. You are Poor, Hungry and Driven. That’s the kind of PHD I’m looking for” and then he continued, “Have you ever thought about selling luxury real estate because selling a 2 million dollar house or a $200,000 house, the paperwork is exactly the same”. That was an easy choice.
I jumped in part time but worked full time hours in 1999 and never looked back. Now I’m a co-host for popular Television show called, “The Neighborhood SD” where we feature not only real estate related topics and incredible homes but also feature fun stuff to do in the neighborhood. We are on every Sunday on Channel 6, The CW at 12:00pm.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There’s always been obstacles but I turned struggles & mistakes into learning experiences. My biggest obstacle early on was trying to juggle my full time Navy career with my part time real estate business. I usually found myself working long hours to get ahead in real estate. My entire goal was to work the last 10 years of the Navy career doing real estate part time so by the time I retired, I had an established business and steady flow of referrals.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty story. Tell us more about the business.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t call it luck, I call it the “law of attraction” We are the masters of our own destiny and I’m a huge believer in “The Law of Attraction” and how our thoughts transform our futures, good or bad. I just tend to focus on the good and more positive things and that’s what I attract in return. I don’t know how it works, I just know that it does. I’ve talked to some of the biggest celebrities and successful professional athletes in the world and they all practice it.
