Meet Todd Schoelen and Katie Ramage of Adventure KT

Today we’d like to introduce you to Todd Schoelen and Katie Ramage.

Todd and Katie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As I contemplated what my next business venture would be, I knew that prioritizing the passions of my life, and the lifestyle my wife Katie and I created were most important. We love the outdoors, we love being active and exploring beautiful places together and with family and friends. Adventure KT was the result of wanting to combine our lifestyle and expertise, and the enjoyment obtained when sharing that knowledge with others. Not everyone has the time and ability to venture off into the unknown so I thought having a fleet of quality RV’s and Trailers, alongside exceptional customer service, would make exploring the outdoors easier and more enjoyable for everyone.

About the Founders:
Todd – An entrepreneur and business owner with a passion for the outdoors and endurance sports. A three time IronMan finisher, ran multiple 50 Mile Trail Races, countless marathons, hiked and camped throughout our National Park system, backpacked along the Pacific Crest Trail and camped all over the country. As a father of three he understands the power of getting families together in nature and takes great pride in helping facilitate travel experiences for others.

Katie – Has worked in Marketing, her entire professional career with a focus on Adventure Travel. While working in advertising, her clients were resort hotels. While working as a bike and hiking guide, she traveled the world leading active vacations. While working for an outdoor clothing brand, she managed professional athletes who climbed, skied and ran in the most remote corners of the world. Her love and knowledge of the outdoors helps enable AdventureKT clients of all abilities to enjoy their surroundings and create memorable vacations.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
All new business comes with new learning curves.
– getting the word out on who we are and why we’re difference is an ongoing challenge. Our reviews on YELP and customer referrals have helped build our trust in the rental category
– building a well-rounded fleet of quality vehicles that accommodate two to eight travelers took time and is an ongoing evolution
– building processes that assures the customer experience is as smooth and effortless as possible took some trial and error and refinement is ongoing
– building a quality web experience that brings to life our culture and mission is a work in progress. We hope to have our new and improved web and mobile site ready for launch by the end of November

The list goes on, however throughout this learning curve we knew, and know, that the only way to succeed in the short and long run is to be honest and transparent with all our consumers and prioritize their feedback. Everyday we learn from our customers on how to improve and feel we’ll always succeed provided we continue making that top priority

We deliver positive and memorable travel experiences to all clients through distinctively superior customer service before, during and after each RV rental. The variety of RV’s in our fleet accommodates the comfort needs of groups ranging from 1-8 and each vehicle is mechanically and aesthetically maintained against the highest safety and quality standards. Every member of our passionate staff is committed to empowering all travels with outdoor information, vehicle know-how and roadside assistance that result in confident and happy travelers.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The culmination of positive feedback from our customers fuels the motivation of our entire company. Everyone here feels we don’t just rent RV’s we help create lasting vacation memories. Happy customers just never gets old.
