Meet Trailblazer Bianca Corallino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca Corallino.

Bianca, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born and raised in beautiful San Diego, California. I left San Diego for four years to go to San Francisco State University where I received a bachelors degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. I moved back to San Diego after graduating to pursue my dreams of being a social media strategist.

As you can probably tell, pink is my favorite color. Pink has taken over all aspects of my life. As cheesy as it sounds, fashion is my passion. I always knew that I wanted to be a part of the fashion industry. Growing up, I researched all the different job opportunities in the fashion industry to figure out what would be the best fit for me. In high school, I fell in love with fashion marketing and thought it would be the perfect job. Once I started studying marketing, I realized that social media was my favorite part of the job, which leads me to where I am today.

Now, I am a social media strategist which entails managing social media for multiple clients. Even though fashion is my passion, some of my clients are part of different industries. I also manage my own social media.

When it comes to my social media, I consider myself a lifestyle blogger. The majority of my posts are fashion related but I also post about beauty, fitness, travel, food, etc. The color pink represents universal love and sweetness. Through my work and social media, I strive to show those things because everything is better with a little bit of pink.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely was not easy! I had a different plan for my life throughout college. I thought after college, I would go to Los Angeles and get a social media position for a big company. That was not the case for me. I applied to several companies and never heard anything back from them. I got really discouraged because I thought wasn’t going to be able to accomplish my dreams. Luckily for me, when I graduated, my cousin who is a fashion designer was looking for a new social media/marketing manager. I had previously interned for her while I was in college and loved being a part of the team. So, that summer after my graduation, I began working for her but still with the plan of eventually moving to LA. Then, after getting rejected from several jobs, I realized what I wanted to do was right in front of me. I didn’t need to go LA to follow my dreams, I can have my career in my favorite city (San Diego). I then decided to scratch the idea of moving to LA. Sometimes, we looked too hard and miss opportunities that are very obvious to our family and friends. My advice will be to open yourself to the possibility of new things, to be persistent and resilient. Life does not always work the way you plan but embrace the changes and the journey.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a social media strategist. I help other brands target an audience and capture their attention. A lot of people don’t realize that a lot goes into social media planning. Everyone sees the post but very often they don’t know what it took to create that post. When it comes to Instagram, the most important part for me is making sure the page looks cohesive. I like to come up with fun things to say that will engage the audience. What I am known for is having a “pink” Instagram. My whole page revolves around the color pink and how it is a part of my life. That’s how people find out that I am a social media strategist and what inspires them to approach me for my assistance. They like the way I run my page and how I tie it all together. I think having a pink page is what sets me apart because it catches the eye.
