Meet Trailblazer Tara Eldridge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Eldridge.

Tara, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started as a stylist assistant in Miami, Florida. I decided to live in San Diego, I needed to wait to have my cosmetology license transfer, so then I delved into the world of management and regional training in the beauty/ spa industry. I became emerced in my job, learning about the different aspects of the industry. Once my license had been obtained in California, I decided to pursue my career as a hair stylist and makeup artist with new perspective and ambition. I am a local performer, so I am lucky to constantly keep my creative passion alive with neon bright color techniques and modern styling for events, parties, weddings, photo shoots and performances/performers. It’s never a dull moment.

Has it been a smooth road?
In this industry, it is a constant hustle to make sure you are building your clientele as well as your knowledge and techniques and skill set. The advice I’d give it to not be so hard on yourself, find what motivates you and inspires you and to take every opportunity to learn something new. Finding the right fit salon for yourself can be difficult and that’s ok. You have to take the time to find the right team that supports you as a stylist and also provides the demographic you need to excel.

We’d love to hear more about Mane Magick.
I am especially known for fantasy colors. The brighter the better. I also specialize in blonding and styling. I love to give a good blow out style and I love braid styling. I work with a lot of performers, weddings and photo shoot so stage makeup and event hairstyling are always fun and unique.

Which women have inspired you in your life?
I find all women from all walks of life inspiring. But, if I had to choose one woman it would be my grandmother. She has always taught me to be creative, confident, independent and most importantly, myself. She’s also hilarious and I think humor is a very important trait to have.
