Meet Tysen Knight

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tysen Knight.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I started out as a young kid spending time alone in my room drawing my favorite baseball players. I would take my notebook paper and school pencils and re-create baseball cards of these favorite players. As I got into my teenage years, I discovered spray paint and took to the streets to create art with my friends. After being a street artist for many years, I was selected to do my first gallery show which helped me transition from street artist to gallery artist with art exhibition around the country and world.

Please tell us about your art.
I call my art style ” Pop Urban Art” its a mixture of street, fine and pop art, heavily influences by the graffiti & pop art movement in 80’s NYC (Warhol, Haring and Basquiat). I use bold colors in all of my art pieces to provoke thought and inspire. #BeInspired is the hashtag I use on my social media accounts to heal and change the world thru my art.

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
Success is relative to what you define success to be…I found true success in my life by having humility, helping others and being align with my purpose.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
My work can be seen and supported on my website: or follow me on social media to get the latest info on my upcoming exhibits.

Wonderful man and artist. The fourth photo of Tyson and the utility box is here in Desert Hot Springs. The Community and Cultural Affairs Commission, which I chair, awarded him three commissions for three boxes. They are beautiful and the City is thrilled to have his art in our community
