Meet Urvi Trivedi of Neev Health and Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Urvi Trivedi.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started on my health and wellness journey after my second daughter was born. Having gained a lot of weight and facing anxiety, insomnia and recurrent digestive issues, I decided to study wellness and nutrition. I wanted to understand the best choices in food and there was too much contradictory information out there. I decided to understand things from experts in the industry.

I studied over 100 different dietary theories and practical lifestyle management techniques from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I also became a Certified Yoga teacher and a second degree Reiki Practitioner. I started Neev Health and Wellness where I help women and moms reach their optimum health and wellness and live their best life. I incorporate yoga, Ayurveda, Reiki, meditations and aromatherapy/essential oils to help my clients heal and continue their wellness journey in a sustainable manner.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No business or new venture can be totally smooth. There are challenges and the road is uphill and steep sometimes. Health Coaching is relatively new and I have gone through my hurdles of explaining its role, importance and benefits. Public speaking was another one. It does not come too easy for me.

I think everyone should try to do some public speaking. It opened a lot of things for me, made me fearless and more confident. Being an entrepreneur, mom to 2 kids and looking after the family can be challenging. With support from my husband, family and friends, I am able to move forward each day and year!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Neev Health and Wellness story. Tell us more about the business.
Neev in Sanskrit means a base or foundation. I believe that a good foundation favors a healthier and happier life, and for that, you need a proper balance of healthy food and other aspects of your life that nourish and fulfill you. These include healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity, a spiritual awareness.

I work with women leading busy, stressed out lives (which includes most of us today) to improve their health and well being. We incorporate foods, exercise and stress management techniques that work best for the client. My clients set SMART goals – specific, measurable, agreed upon, realistic, time-based. I support them in taking action steps to support their goals. We work together for 3 to 6 months.

Yoga, Ayurveda, meditation sessions and reiki treatments are important lifestyle management techniques we incorporate. After working with me, clients have seen significant positive changes – losing weight, better energy and focus, feeling motivated, eating healthier, cooking more often, feeling calmer and relaxed.

I started my health coaching business in 2015. I am proud that fast forward 2018 we are almost a one-stop shop for a healthy lifestyle – health coaching, yoga, essential oils and aromatherapy, reiki treatments and my very own Neev products made with all natural ingredients and therapeutic grade EOs.

My approach is client focused. There is no one diet or lifestyle to fit all. Raw foods work for one and vegan for another. Similarly, meditation is an excellent tool but very difficult for some people to initially slow down. So, we start with restorative yoga for example which is an in-between route, almost a segway to meditation. My client decides what is working best and we take it from there. I then introduce different options, ways and means to them.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I have been very lucky to have a great family who is extremely supportive of my business and life goals. I have seen, with any kind of work you do if one door closes another one opens up. You have to keep going to fulfill your passion and goals. One of my teachers once said – “You follow your passion, the money will follow.”
