Meet Vera Ross of Coach V Personal Training in Little Italy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vera Ross.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Vera. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Fitness is not one size fits all- what works best for one person may not necessarily fulfill the needs of another. I created my personal training business in order to help others create happier, healthier lives through fitness and nutrition. As former collegiate runner, I am on a mission to share my passion for fitness with those who are looking to make lasting and meaningful lifestyle changes. Using a holistic approach to training I lead clients through personalized workout sessions, and offer clients guidance on daily routines, meals, clean eating, and all the elements of a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. My goal is to ensure that each client walks away with a solid foundation and results that they know how to maintain on their own.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I was fortunate enough to be brought into a private fitness studio, out of which I train clients. This exclusive space allows me to create an atmosphere in which clients feel comfortable and not have to be preoccupied with the crowds of a larger gym facility. I have also been extremely lucky to work with and learn from some amazing trainers. My years of experience in the realm of group fitness and working with athletes in strength training facilities has given me a solid base of knowledge from which I have crafted my own unique approach. I have had some incredibly knowledgeable mentors whom have guided me along the way- just like most people, I owe my success to all of those who have helped me throughout my career, including my inspiring clients!

Coach V Personal Training – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I have over 10 years combined experience as a competitive athlete and as a professional in the fitness industry. I specialize in training women and working with them toward their goals in fitness and mind/body area.

I train my clients out of a private gym in the Little Italy neighborhood of San Diego, and I can also travel to clients’ homes if they prefer working out in their own gym facility.

I have a very holistic approach to training, meaning that I take into consideration each client’s entire lifestyle. I work with clients to develop strategies that they can implement to maintain their healthy routines. I provide more than just a workout, I educate clients on how to make health and fitness a part of their lives!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
After working with a client for several months and seeing her make meaningful progress towards her goals, my client informed me that she had signed up for her first ever 5k road race! She had never been a runner before, but made the decision on her own to enter into a race. She completed the race, and enjoyed her experience. She has continued to progress in the gym, and continues to compete in road races to this day- just for fun! This client had initially sought me out after being told by her doctor that she needed to lose weight for health reasons. Not only has she gotten healthier, she has completely transformed her lifestyle- and her road races exemplify her transformation. She is constantly getting out of her comfort zone, whether it is with running, trying a new health food, or changing up her fitness routine with me in the gym. This client is one of many who inspire me to be the best professional I can- knowing that I can help others to discover the strength within themselves is what keeps me motivated to go above and beyond for clients every day!
