Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianne Lopez.
Hi Brianne, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
So, I came from a smaller town in Colorado where I was raised by my mom who worked multiple jobs to provide for myself and my brother. Because my mom was working so hard to provide for us, I was forced to become very independent and learned to work hard at a very young age.
Throughout my childhood and my teenage years, I had experienced a lot of setbacks that gradually caused me to struggle with severe depression and anxiety, eventually due to this and unforeseen health issues with my mother, I decided to drop out of high school.
During this time, I had begun modeling and working as a ring card girl for local MMA events and was introduced to the world of marketing and entrepreneurship. My dream had become to move to either LA or San Diego to continue my career in modeling until soon before pursuing my big move to California, I learned that I had become pregnant with my oldest daughter. Because of this, I had made a huge decision stay in my hometown to try and provide a better life for her and myself and return back to high school. Not only was I able to graduate within that same year, but I was given the opportunity to speak out to my graduating class to inspire others not to give up on those dreams while my oldest daughter watched me from the stands of my graduation. This for me was a huge milestone to where I am today.
Fast forward to ten years later, I have become a mother to four beautiful girls, with one of them soon to be on the way. I have been a military spouse for nearly nine years, which has included numerous deployments and many months of maintaining the family while he was away. This lifestyle has also caused us to move many times, being away from family, friends and support and many other un ideal situations.
Over the years, I have spent a lot of time working doing marketing for different companies at local San Diego events, etc. as well as getting into the beauty/fashion community which I became very passionate about over the last few years which has really helped me and my struggle with depression, which leads us to where I am today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There were SO MANY obstacles in my life! I think we never truly get where we belong being without struggles and obstacles so I wouldn’t change it for the world.
I can say that even currently til this day, I still struggle a lot with my depression and anxiety, which can definitely make you question what it is that you are good at or should be doing, but honestly I’ve came so far and am truly proud of that, I do feel it has shaped me to be an amazing mom, wife, friend and person overall.
Although I wouldn’t want to relive many of those obstacles, I remain thankful the lessons they have taught me and I feel as though it will help me as not only become furthermore who I desire to be, but I feel it has given me the strength and knowledge to help me raise my children and be a much more loving and compassionate person towards others and hopefully someone others can turn to as a mentor and inspire!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have worked specializing in marketing for many companies as an entrepreneur, working events and many other venues. As well as dedicating a lot of time and effort into creating content in the beauty/fashion community for many social media platforms and beauty brands, I do a lot of filming, editing and content production for brands testing beauty products and skincare as well as sharing my knowledge to others through my social media such as my Instagram @briamiche and my YouTube channel also, @ briamiche. I do plan to begin pursuing this again much more fluently in the near future once my fourth child is born!
Aside from my work in the beauty community, I have worked alongside with my husband to create a brand @ Shop Ivory Luxx which we established back in December of 2020. Owning my own brand had been something I had wanted to pursue for many years but just hadn’t and fortunately, with the love and support of my husband, we were able to create our company. It has been a MAJOR learning curve for us, as first-time business owners we really had no idea what we were getting ourselves into but we have learned so much and have established a wonderful relationship with so many new people and customers and we are beyond grateful to the growth we have had so far!
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I’m not sure if this is something that people who know me both personally or just on social media etc. but there are two things! One, I have the dorkiest, most spontaneous sense of humor and sense of sarcasm when I get comfortable around people! Like, I am the type will have jokes for days and sing and dance and have no problems entertaining people just for pure fun! And two, I am also very anxious and introverted in some moments are really struggle with putting myself out there in any social environment on many days which is as you can imagine a very huge struggle for me as it’s very contradicting to my outgoing fun behavior once I am comfortable!
