Rising Stars: Meet Chiara Capobianco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chiara Capobianco.

Hi Chiara, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Chiara, I was born in Milano (Italy), and I have attended some of the most famous music schools in the Northern Italian region; I am (kind of) fluent in six languages. I have traveled the world with my harps across land and sea. I have lived, played and taught in Italy, Thailand, India, Great Britain, and now California.

I have performed for aristocracies, dignitaries and for executive luxury events worldwide. I am a musician, harp performer, harp and piano teacher; In addition to this, I am a promoter of luxury events, a fashionista and a speaker telling stories of my unique life and travel experiences. I was a featured entertainer and event promoter for Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth 2 and all the cruise liners of the luxury brand Cunard line. I was appointed resident harpist for Luxury Resorts in Thailand. Prior to that I performed for the largest weddings in India with Bollywood stars and for corporate executives.

I am currently living, working (and evaluating projects) in La Jolla California, with wedding and events planners, high-end entertainment- music agencies, musical directors, art gallery owners, corporate & private events organizers, festival organizers, yoga studio owners, theatre artistic directors, museum event coordinators, Resort-Casino-Restaurant-Bar managers, Fashion designers, Orchestra conductors and Charity Gala fundraisers.

You can find me performing at exclusive events, speaking (as well as promoting) the luxury lifestyle in California, and as a featured teacher at the La Jolla Music Schoo, VillaMusica, etc.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Always challenging being a self-employed musician.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an international professional harpist. I perform at events, weddings, etc. I play anything from classic to pop. I also teach harp & piano.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I lived in multiple countries (and learned multiple languages). Also played six years onboard cruise ships literally around the world.
