Rising Stars: Meet Joshua Rawson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Rawson.

Hi Joshua, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When I was first admitted to SDSU in the fall of 2021I was hoping to get started in a Republican club on campus. I quickly realized after searching for the College Republicans that they were disbanded. After learning this news and some encouragement from some friends, I decided to re-start the club. With the help of my friends at The University of San Diego College Republicans and the TPUSA at SDSU, I was able to get started. We are new and we are just getting this sorted but we have big plans for the future!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a challenging road. We have already experienced harassment by students on campus and we are expecting pushback from the University as well. But we will never back down and we are looking forward to fighting the good fight.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We specialize in encouraging students of all backgrounds to vote Republican and get involved in politics at local, state, and federal level.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I think people may not realize how sympathetic I am to some liberal causes. I understand the frustration with greed and unfair treatment of some people. However, I think the left misunderstands a lot of these issues and attacks it in an unstable and emotional way rather than a logical one.
