Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaitey Elliott.
Kaitey, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a business owner at heart! Ever since I was a little girl, I would dream about running an office, orchestrating giant projects, and empowering people through whatever I am doing. I had pretty big dreams as a kid, and they have only gotten bigger.
After I graduated from college, I wanted to do more. I love doing and achieving, but I also love being people’s biggest cheerleader. So, when I realized that I could do both, I decided to figure out how. The opportunity opened up to start two different companies. One, The License Solutions (TLS) – a liquor license brokering firm, and the other Kaitey Elliott, my colorful lifestyle blog.
At TLS, we are able to help small businesses expand, and it has been so incredibly rewarding! My blog is where I have been finding the meeting point for creativity, positivity, and empowering women. Also an incredibly rewarding job. In the future, I hope to find a way to continue to support and empower women. Who knows what the future holds, but I am optimistic and excited to see it come to fruition!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The hardest challenge has been starting these businesses through a pandemic. I have learned so many great lessons along the way, but I could have done without learning some of them.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
Myself and my co-owner are liquor license brokers. We specialize in working with Small Businesses in California to get a beer and wine license or to expand their locations to have full bars. Our heart is for the family-owned business, and our expertise is in the liquor license process. The ABC process to get a license can be quite a headache, so we love that we can help out a new business owner by doing the process for them.
If you follow my blog or my Instagram, you will find fun, colorful, encouraging content. My hope is that it will bring a smile to your face!
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I am a member of Hera Hub, a coworking space for women. It has been pivotal in my ability to launch a new business during a pandemic. Finding a group of women business owners who collaborate and encourage one another is an incredible experience.
I also listen to Business Made Simple and Human Hope podcasts. My most used app is Smartsheet, a project management app that allows me to keep track of budgets, processes, client information, and where my time is allotted. Super detailed and super helpful!
