Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Collins.
Hi Liz, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began my hair journey in 2012 at Bellus Academy. I quickly fell in love with coloring hair- especially blonding. Over the years, I dove very deep into continued education- especially for blondes. With dedication, hard work, and passion my business took off. Today, I specialize in natural-looking blondes, and low-maintenance lived in blondes.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road for me. I faced many challenges in my personal life which then affected my career. I currently have three years sober- and since making that change in my life, I am able to be fully present. Not only in my personal life but in my career and with my clients.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a hairdresser in sunny San Diego where I was born and raised. I specialize in blonding and am known for it.
I am most proud of my perseverance.
I believe my dedication to my clients sets me apart from others. I love what I do. I strive to provide my clients with a comfortable, relaxing, high end and fun experience while in my chair. My head and neck massages are a bonus too.
I get to do hair at Salon Bordeaux in Normal Heights where I am surrounded by other fun, loving and creative stylists.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I absolutely love our weather here in SD. I love that you can go to any type of landscape pretty quickly. Whether it’s the beach, mountains or desert. We have it all.
I mostly dislike the traffic (that’s anywhere though) and the parking. Parking is not always the best.
