Rising Stars: Meet Perri Grant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Perri Grant.

Hi Perri, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I love to host parties for my friends. When I was watching ‘The Real House Wives of Atlanta’, there was an episode where Nene was hosting a party and each lady had a bedazzled straw. I wanted those for my parties and couldn’t find them anywhere, so I made my own. From there on, I started bedazzling anything I could get my hands on. I am not where I want to be but I understand Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Getting the word out about my products is a lot of work. Also getting people to try and trust my work is difficult.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
When I started my business, I was just into bedazzling, so I called myself ‘The Glamorous Bling Queen’’. Now that I make products for all genders, I had to rethink the name. I’m still and always will be ‘The Glamorous Bling Queen’ but I just broke it down into two categories: ‘Natural Koils’ and ‘Creative Things’. Under ‘Natural Koils’, I have hair and body oil, hair and body butter, shower steamers, bath bombs and more. Under ‘Creative Things’, I have my bedazzled straws, wine glasses, queen mugs and more. What sets me apart from others is that I haven’t seen anyone making bedazzled reusable straws or wine glasses, so I jumped at the opportunity.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My husband has been my biggest supporter. Without him, ‘The Glamorous Bling Queen’ wouldn’t even exist. I would also like to give credit to my son, my friend Chida and my friend Alexus. I call them my board members. They give me great advice when I need it. My loctitian and good friend, Janice helped me spread the word and introduced my products to her clients. She not only uses my hair products on her clients. Last but not least, I have my sisters and brother who are my cheer squad.
