Life and Work with Miranda Goll

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miranda Goll.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Miranda. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up in London, England, and have lived in California since 2007 when I moved to San Diego to study Massage Therapy. I met my husband here, and we have a beautiful six-year-old son together, and two wonderful step-children. I am a Yoga Instructor, Reiki Master, Intuitive, Oracle and Tarot Card Reader, and I offer coaching and mentorship programs and I have an upcoming online course.

20 years ago, I backpacked all over the world on a shoestring, living and working in different continents, from Australia to Guatemala. I even owned a bar for three years in Cambodia! I had an experience of awakening when my mother passed in 1999, but I didn’t really know what it was at the time. I was inspired to study Reiki energy healing and attended a 10-day silent Vipassana meditation course while in Thailand in 2002, and it changed the entire course of my life.

After I was attuned to Reiki, I began to experience psychic visions while I practiced sending distant healing. For over ten years, I didn’t charge people for Reiki, and when I would share my visions with clients, their feedback would be overwhelmingly positive, and I was often surprised by the accuracy of what I saw. I discovered I was able to help people see into certain aspects of their lives that needed healing.

Now, I am proud to be able to help others with these gifts. I teach others Reiki Healing, as well as all the other energetic tools and practices I’ve learned. I am a work in progress myself, and I’m still uncovering layers of healing from my own traumas. My interest in healing actually stemmed from needing to heal myself. I’ve come a long way, and I will continue to journey into healing and loving myself more. I maintain a daily meditation, yoga, and Spiritual practice, in order to continue cultivating the emotional environment I wish to experience and embody.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
You know life is full of ups and downs, it really just depends on how you look at things. Some of the struggles I’ve faced have been my biggest teachers. I had a very challenging upbringing: members of my immediate family struggled with alcoholism, mental illness, eating disorders, and suicide. Over the last ten years, I have been devoted to being a step-mom and mother, and there have been many challenges finding balance and time for myself. My stepdaughter has severe autism, and my son has multiple food allergies and health issues which impact his immune and detoxification system. So, I would not say my life path has been easy. However, if I dwell on the negative, that is what my experience will be. If I look at how I’ve handled everything in life and what I’ve learned then, my attitude shifts in an entirely different direction. It is through all of the challenges of my early life that I sought healing through meditation and energetics. It is because of my kids that I have devoted myself to learning about the brain and the gut, holistic healing, and healthful living and eating. It is because I didn’t have ideal parental models, that I knew I needed to learn more about conscious parenting, early childhood development, and learn to be a better parent from experts in the field.

To young women starting their journey, I would say, try to find the blessing, the learning, and the wisdom you’ve gained through your struggles. Know that everything in life is a journey and a process, and even when you are armed with knowledge, nothing takes the place of experience. It is very difficult to learn from other people’s mistakes! We learn best when we ourselves have gone through something challenging and come out the other side. Don’t dwell in the negative or let negative experiences hold you back. You are in charge of your story, and how you view your life in this present moment, is what creates your future.

Please tell us about your work.
I specialize in helping women to connect more deeply to themselves, to listen to the messages of their body and their Highest Selves, and to strengthen their own intuitive abilities through tools, ritual, and proactive intention. I share proven methods to reduce anxiety and stress, to help women step out of reactivity, and into self-awareness and self-worth. so that they can feel empowered to create the life they want and deserve.

What I love providing clients is attention to detail, valuable takeaways, and easy to implement action points. I want to make personal growth and empowerment easy to achieve!

My personal experience with energy healing, intuition, and deep knowledge of the physical and philosophical aspects of yoga, are what have helped me to empower and love myself. It is my calling, and my purpose to help others do the same. I don’t want to help others heal. I want to teach others how to heal themselves.

There’s a wealth of academic research that suggests that lack of mentors and networking opportunities for women has materially affected the number of women in leadership roles. Smart organizations and industry leaders are working to change this, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for finding a mentor and building a network?
I think finding a mentor is very personal. Sometimes we need to work with more than one person, as we evolve, we may need to up-level our mentorship! When I work with mentors, I always look for 3 things. The first is their experience level. They definitely need to know more than me! The second is authenticity. I want to feel that they are authentic and have a high degree of integrity. And third, can I easily relate to them, and do I feel comfortable being vulnerable with them? I have found being both a mentor and a mentee, that my commitment level is similar. I have a strong ethic when it comes to helping others, and I have an equal dedication to my own healing and growth!
