Meet Kayliegh Rashad of KK LOVE in Crestline

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayliegh Rashad.

Kayliegh, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been singing since I was three years old, jumping up on stage and singing my own lyrics to whatever song was on. I knew I never wanted to do anything else with my life full time .. so I didn’t. I went through a lot of struggles growing up like my mom going to prison on and off from 6 years old to 15 years old. An Abusive step Mother and having to help raise my little brother and sister, having two children by 21 and more. Through that, I learned perseverance which has helped me to thrive to where I am now. Family and friends where also a huge part of pushing me forward, my grandma always supporting me 100 %, my dad pushing me into my first wedding singer job at 15! And my best friend always believes I’d be famous one day and picking out which Jonas brother we’d marry after we finally turned 16! I threw myself heavily into modeling and singing full time from 16 years old. I found rides, went to thing 5 hours early whatever I had to do to make my dream work. I finally signed myself up for performing arts school (ICPA) for my last year of high school which really trained me better vocally. That’s also the year I met my children’s dad who is also a young entrepreneur and artist. I started releasing music, applying for every music job I could find landing myself into Mississippi singing on the radio, to modeling for Joico to, being an extra on love and hip hop LA. I had my first daughter shortly after and realized it was a whole different ball game and not an easy one. Still I New being an artist in many different ways and helping others would always be my purpose! I took my daughter to castings, photoshoots and other things with me just to make it work. I started managing my daughter and getting her into modeling as well and realized I could do it for both of us. I knew I wanted to do more with my music and really started making positive hippie love songs to reach people’s minds not just their hearts, soon enough as music was progressing i got pregnant with my second daughter. I modeled and performed through my whole pregnancy, though not always easy, I continued to create art and really push the boundaries of being an artist. During this time, I learned to make paintings which I started selling, dropshipping to make passive income, making crystal Jewelry to sell at shows with my merch and making album art for others. After I had my second daughter my children’s father and I decided to start launching our business “HIPPIE IN A BOX” and “HIPPIE FOR LIFE” to make passive income and help heal others lives with crystals, sage, affirmations and more. Through the love of helping others with my artistry, I now manage other artists and models as well as myself and two daughters. Am currently working on two books to be released this year, starting a music tour with “talent tonight “ and “on the way” music tour. As well as I’ve been teaching singing lessons online and in house! I am a full-time R&B singer, hippie momma, and creative entrepreneur with a bite! It has been a very blessed and beautiful experience to have come this far and know I still have so far to go. I hope to influence young and old souls to feel confident and proud to be themselves. I see beauty in all creatures and hope to have a positive influence on our world. I also have a very special place in my heart for our plus-size community which I support heavily modeling for plus-size brands as well as launching body positivity campaigns and letting all people know all bodies are beautiful and to be comfortable in our skin. I will be releasing a full hippie and all body types welcome modeling course this year as well to really give something back to my fans, supporters and anyone else looking to get into the industry!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a very long road, my parents separating when I was 6, my mom going to prison, having to deal with an abusive stepmother, being raped, helping take care of my little brother and sister, have 2 children very young, hemorrhaging during birth, being cheated on and going through a divorce .

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about KK LOVE – what should we know?
KK LOVE originally started out as a nickname when I was young to my stage now and has now progressed to KK LOVE ENT (entertainment). I am known for my music first, as well as my soft hippie performances, being an influencer for young moms, the plus-size community and having open arms to the community for advice, love and acceptance. Beyond my music and modeling, I now manage other artists, teach singing and modeling lessons and have two books coming out this year! I’m most proud of the progression the last two years for my company and being able to incorporate my family into my business. Something I would think sets me apart in my business is that I am a creative who is business-minded but want to show others by example that being successful doesn’t require backstabbing or hurting people, but instead that love, perseverance and confidence will always put you ahead.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I think perseverance, confidence, Love and understanding are the strongest characteristics or qualities you can have for any type of success.
Once you have those you can never fail because you are willing to push through anything, you know in your heart you will make it and it shows, your love will positively affect yourself and all those around you and you understand others struggles as well as your own and the ever-changing universe which in turn will open up all possibilities and lead you into being able to conquer all you set out to do.
