Thanks for sharing your story with us Tiffany. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have a background as a real estate broker and a love for marketing, design, and how the visual experience evokes certain connections.
When I realized essential oils were a bridge to better health, I started using them in my life. Removing chemicals form my life, one oil at a time and I was completely in love with what the (right) oils could do to support our bodies.
I have always been, and always will be connected deeply to water. The ocean, the lakes, waterfalls, pools, baths…
I made a few therapeutic bath salts to deepen my healing, my sore body, and shared them with some friends. To my surprise, they really took off!
The idea of self-love with products that come directly and untouched from Mother Nature is where many of us are leaning. The cool stores behind what the blends intend to do for your body, mixed with pure ingredients, and uniquely handmade all made this business of therapeutic baths salts /body scrubs take off.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, it has not been smooth! I wish it was, but then again, I’ve lived life long enough to know the struggles are a huge part of it. Just like music, the combination of high notes and low notes make the best music. With all low, it’s boring, all high notes, boring too. I try to remember this along the way.
The struggles for me mostly were mental. I don’t like hearing the word no. I avoid hearing no which makes me miss out in some possible yes’s.
I work on my mental mind more than anything else.
I believe so deeply in the quality and what my product represents. I need to constantly remind myself that others do too. And some won’t. And that’s ok too.
Please tell us about love + wellness + oils.
I specialize in handmade therapeutic bath salts/body scrubs.
All are unique in their own way, whether with designer (and no two are alike) ribbon on the travel bags, test tubes wrapped with star garland, or the glass jars that are loved with twine and spoons from Bali, Indonesia.
I am most proud of building this brand with my own hands, my own mind, my heart, my vision -and having my 4 kids watch me. They are all not in love with the school system and have never thrived in that world. I feel like they now see the way of an entrepreneur, the highs and lows, my real struggles, having money to spend and also lean times. I’m most proud of giving these people I put into the world, hope and seeing outside the box, following what their heart is leading them to.
Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
I worked very hard as a kid. We didn’t have money so I fully understood the value of a dollar. I walked dogs, babysat, had paper routes. Whatever I had to do to buy gum! (That’s where it started) and then, things like makeup and clothes, and eventually my own car, and on and on.
Being forced to provide for my own life gave me deep struggles but made me dig deep. The motto “if it is to be, it’s up to me” was something I understood deeply.
