Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley McWhorter.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
A year ago was the last day I was able to speak to my father and the last time I was able to tell him how much I was going to make him proud. Fast forward five hours later, I got a call saying he had passed. I knew right then and there that every promise I made to him, I had to keep from the time he passed up until October 1st, a little over a month ago. All I wanted to do was drink and smoke my life away. On October 1st, 2019, I decided to become sober. I became so wrapped up in the feeling of drinking and smoking my life away and feeling that that was my only outlet to numb the pain. I didn’t just decide to become sober due to health reasons, I decided to become sober because I knew my story was eventually going to touch the lives of others. 42 days now of being sober, not only have I been able to leave my career, I’ve been able to save over four figures, I’ve been saved by God, I have been able to buy a house, but I’ve also been able to be a very successful entrepreneur. I am in the midst of working on publishing two books. I have built three businesses in the past, 35 days, two by myself and one with my partner.
My story isn’t to brag. My story isn’t to put myself on a pedestal. My story is to, again, not only touch the lives of others but to show others that no matter what you go through, no matter how down and out you are, you have to dig very, very deep within yourself, pull yourself back up and keep going. And that’s exactly why I want and need to share my story with young other women and individuals who have gone through the same thing or currently going through the same thing. This is my story, Ashley McWhorter.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road to my success definitely hasn’t been the easiest. Long nights staying up and getting only a few hours of sleep doing business tasks, coming up with new ideas and content, crying every other day to my partner and needing his support, to even forgetting to eat at times! I knew being an entrepreneur wasn’t going to be easy but it is definitely worth it. I think to myself; “ if I just sacrifice and grind all day every day until even after I reach my goal, then I can get that financial independence I want!” I’m not just setting myself up financially but mentally and emotionally having to stay strong and having DISCIPLINE has been the best lessons I have gotten thus far! And this is just my beginning!
Please tell us about your business – what should we know?
Out of the three businesses I have started, my “RealFine” skincare line has been my #1 focus and the other two have been able to launch soon with the help of my partner! Now, it’s not just any old skincare line like you see in the commercials!! This one is designed for every woman to feel her sexiest and most confident WITHOUT CAKING ON THE MAKEUP! Now in order for me to have known that I hired models of all colors and textures so, therefore, it’s proven to be working on what I say it’s for! Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
I wish I could write a book of my own to answer this question, but instead, I’m actually in the process of writing my own book of my life’s journey that got me to this very destination! My book will be in the audiobook form along with a paperback book. The videos and speakers I listen to on a daily basis are Eric Thomas, Tony Robbins and Steve Harvey! Every day I’m learning something, writing down new ideas, listening to a new video and consuming my mind with nothing but brilliant and intelligent videos and information! If I could meet any of these men, all I would say is “THANK YOU, BECAUSE OF YOU, YOU HAVE HELPED ME BECOME A STRONG ENTREPRENEUR AND RELENTLESS!”
