Today we’d like to introduce you to Esther Ramirez.
Esther, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Pets without borders were born in 2016 as a school project. To improve my professional profile I enrolled in an Executive Leadership Coach Certificate, where I thought, it would take me to the next level of my career. One of the main topics of the program was “Finding your passion”. One day the teacher asked us to think of an activity that can be done for hours and that as time passes you enjoy it much more, and transform it into a career. Which for me, was and is, playing with my dogs.
Since I was raised with the philosophy of having a career that makes money and happiness can come along after, I remember thinking, how crazy this can be, make a living and growing by playing with dogs. One month after I was walking my neighbor’s dog and volunteering in adoption centers. I offered my services to friends and neighbors, where I watched after goats, bunnies and cats. And by that time I confirmed my passion for pets.
After several months, as a snowball rolling, my name grew, I was completely booked and my hand full of leashes. At that point, my husband, who supported my dream, became part of it and we created our brand.
Today we are grateful for our family business and looking for opportunities to expand our business and make it grow, help more pets and bring more pets’ lovers on board.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a smooth road, we had the help of friends and neighbors, that got in love with our passion.

Pets without borders is a pet service business, we offer dog walking and pet sitting services. And we are known for our philosophy. We are proud to say that we do not think of our business as a job but as our passion and we enjoy it every single day.
Our mission is to be part of pets’ lives, see them play, grow and go. We have made it personal, we are part of pets’ lives and they are part of ours and their owners can rely on us anytime.
What were you like growing up?
Growing as an entrepreneur has changed my perspective of life completely. I used to believe what society has told us of what happiness and success means. However, for us, happiness means freedom, to choose and to do what makes us happy and help others to find theirs.
