Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Corteza.
Anthony, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I got started off in the mortgage industry at Global Equity Funding. There, I started at their call center as a sales associate. Working there seeing the loan officers come in and just wondering what they did to be driving the nice expensive cars, always out at meetings, or lunches. Man, they had the life I thought. So after showing my skills as a sales associate, I went to the owner of the company, a Mr. Cornell Hough and asked him what can I do to become a loan officer and from there, it’s been history! After completing the necessary classes and tests, I was finally a licensed loan originator helping people to buy their dream homes and have never looked back!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Sales and Real Estate is never a smooth road! Ask anyone in the industry. There are the ups from a great month or the great feeling of someone being so happy and thankful after closing on their new home or property, and you have been part of making that happen. It’s like a drug! Then there are the slower months. When rates go up, the economy has a big shift, not to mention dealing with people’s largest financial investment they will probably ever make! It can be stressful. Part of my job though, is to handle this and make it the best process for my clients.

As a mortgage broker, AARC Funding is changing the way you look at lending! With changes happening every day in the mortgage and real estate field, it is a must to be in the know. Not only as a lender but as a real estate professional. Knowing the newest programs, guidelines and trends in the market can sometimes mean closing a deal versus losing one. Thinking outside the box as well. Thinking outside the box helps us with not only our prime clients but first time home buyers and everyone in between. Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Growing up in the 90s in San Diego was a blast! Beach days, baseball games at Helix High School, playing tennis, but I would have to say my favorite would be just hanging out and running around with my cousins around our apartment complex. Stopping by my grandpa’s garage, which was his AMAZING woodshop!
