Today we’d like to introduce you to Nate Hostutler and Marcus Peters of Guerilla Cinema Partners.
Nate and Marcus, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We started off shooting behind the scenes and music videos then expanded into TV commercials and weddings and now pretty much anything you can think of.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I’m sure every business has its ups and downs and a learning curve. Ours wasn’t too bad. We come from an entertainment and recording facility back round and have always been hands-on. Though every day, there is a new trick to be learned and a new effect to create. Struggles if any are the reinvestments, you get 5-10k then boom time for a new lens or the new camera that just came out or some new lights.
Please tell us more about your work. What do you guys do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
We primarily shoot videos from professional settings to in the streets shooting music videos. We specialize in Music videos and have shot over 300. We are definitely most proud of a lot of our work from being on TV with BET commercial in front of 100s of thousands of people or doing a good music video that turns out a couple 100 thousand views we take pride in all of our work. We think what sets us apart from everyone else is we are a team. There isn’t too many runs and gun shooters that are a duo. Sure, if you pay the big bucks, you get a team but with us, for a good price you get two sets of eyes and options for awesome visuals.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our plans are to continue to expand, keep traveling and hopefully, in the future, get behind the lens on some Big Screen movies. We just got a full studio building an actual facility for the production company and it also has a recording studio The Dungeon. We have some really cool plans in the near future for a barbershop and tattoo spots.
