Meet Morgan Stidum

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Stidum.

Morgan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Ever since I was a kid, I was always trying to entertain people. Whether it be dancing in public for strangers, impersonating Michael Jackson for my family, or just cracking jokes with my friends, I’ve always tried to put a smile on someone’s face. In middle school, I downloaded this app called Musically and started making short, funny videos for my less than 100 followers.

For a short period of time that I had the app, I enjoyed every moment of it. I began to take my passion more seriously in the summer of 2018, when I started posting YouTube videos every Monday. Through this, I learned what people like to see and most importantly what I like to make. In spring of 2019, I downloaded a short-form video app called TikTok and started posting on there. I quickly grew a following who enjoyed my sense of humor. I (@mostidum) currently have 95 thousand followers and I’m super thankful to share my content with people who enjoy it as much as I enjoy making it.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I personally have always been able to adapt well to physical roadblocks but the mental ones have gotten to me. I used to always tell myself that I can’t do something because of some excuse. I finally stopped making excuses and started doing the things I said I couldn’t. This mental shift ultimately led me to where I am today. It’s a constant fight with myself but the more I fight the better I get at overcoming it.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
My main goal is to make people smile, laugh, or just forget about the worries of life. Having hardships myself, I know the importance of an “escape”. I wish for for my social media accounts to be a place where people can forget about the stress of life and have a laugh. What makes me unique is my authenticity. I am me and I’m not trying to be anyone else. People always called me weird but I always took that as a compliment. I was weird because I wasn’t like anyone else and I think that’s my ultimate strength.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a super outgoing and fun kid. I was always outside playing around the neighborhood and doing something with my friends. I was the type of kid that would always want to be the center of attention. I would love to make my parents laugh. It made me feel accomplished.
