Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Leday.
Kayla, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Texas, where I attended college at the University of Houston. I was a cheerleader there and studied Dance and Computer Science. After college, I was feeling a bit lost in life. I soon ended up being 25, divorced, and a single mother.
In 2016, I moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where I fell in love as fast as we fell out of it. I experienced probably the worst heartbreak to date, but I’m grateful because it made me fall in love with dancing all over again. After going through that situation, I decided that I wanted to take time and focus on myself. I begin to look more into spirituality and away from the religion I was raised on.
I got drawn to Tarot from a tweet I came across on Twitter of a reader who did daily readings on current energy. I was amazed how accurate it was to my life that before I knew it, I was seeing things completely different. It wasn’t until I played UNO with my nephew one night, that when I felt the cards in my hands and something just felt right!
I began to do readings for myself and a few of my friends, and it always resonated with everyone, so I decided I would start a YouTube Channel. The reason I thought of YouTube was not only because that’s how I discovered Tarot but because I had a natural hair and vlog channel prior to it.
After months of going back and forth on the issue due to fear of family judgement, I started my Tarot channel and named it “Evolving Spiritually.” It all begins with just a view of my hands and the cards with a voice-over. I quickly realized that I didn’t read like any other reader out there, but I didn’t care. I just wanted to help people heal, and also help myself heal. I never intended on creating a business, let alone making any kind of income from it.
Once I started uploading readings, my views continued to rise up and so did my subscribers. I was beginning to feel more confident and soon received emails from others, asking for a private reading. I soon built the courage to just come out and show my face, I knew that I was taking a risk as I lived at home with my very religious father at the time. Luckily, he didn’t find out until I moved out. Here’s where things get crazy.
At the end of 2017, my daughter Kayleigh who’s now six was sexually abused by someone closely related to her. I decided to leave Texas soon after and put full faith into Evolving Spiritually. Since taking that leap of faith, I have been able to build a name for myself and my business. Without Evolving Spiritually and the people who support it, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Not only am I helping others heal through my readings, but they are also healing me through their words and energy.
I appreciate this life and purpose that I’ve been given. I have talked to people all over the world, thousands of people, it’s crazy. How different we all are but also how connected we are. Evolving Spiritually has pushed me in a direction I never saw for myself. One that I’m extremely grateful for, but that’s not the end of it. Evolving Spiritually is so much more than Tarot, it’s self-love, and sometimes it’s me dancing to a song that I feel channeled by. I dive deeper than the surface and give you the space the feel safe.
In addition to Evolving Spiritually, I created Evolving Movements in 2018 after relocating to San Diego. Evolving Movements includes my first love and passion, Dance, but also includes things that are spiritually connected as well. Outside of it been a form of expression. It’s a form of therapy as well. As I healed, I found the love of my life at the end of 2018, and we are now engaged to be married this fall!
We briefly moved to Maryland and relocated back to San Diego at the beginning of March, because I recently made the professional Dance Team for the San Diego Legions, but due to the coronavirus, the remainder of the MLR season has been canceled. I’m currently focusing on building Evolving Spiritually and starting up Evolving Movements.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As I mentioned in my story, the road has not been smooth whatsoever. It was only by faith I have overcome every obstacle that has been put in my path. It’s by faith that I still continue forward today. Since the Coronavirus and taking that great leap to move to San Diego, we’re put in yet another difficult situation.
We (my fiancé, daughter, myself, our cat Ava and our two dogs Suge and Butta.) are currently living in a hotel near Ocean Beach, not knowing if it will even be open after the end of the month. We came down here with a plan, but due to the virus, my fiancé is finding it difficult to find a job currently, so money is just going. We’re not really sure what the future holds, but we have faith that it will all work out!
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Evolving Spiritually is an intuitive therapy service that is spiritually based. I, Kayla Leday, am an intuitive healer and therapist. I specialize in helping others uncover deeply rooted traumas and abuse. I tend to attract people who have been mentally, sexually, physically, and emotionally abused. On YouTube, some have called me the Beyonce of Tarot, which I’d just prefer to be me. I believe that is because of the way I carry myself and brand with confidence. My goal in life is never fame, but to make a positive difference in someone’s life.
I am most proud of Evolving Spiritually because it has truly helped so many people, including myself, and I have seen how my energy can get people out of the most difficult situations in life. I feel that is due to what sets me apart from anyone else in the spiritual community. The way that I read and interrupt the messages is unlike anyone that you’ve ever seen. I just have a smooth way with communication and my readings are real and flow. I like to dive deeper than the surface and really help people see the root of it all.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m really unsure of what the future holds because the possibilities are unlimited. My life up into this moment has proven that anything can happen so long as I’m committed and consistent. I do plan on continuing Evolving Spiritually and would love to bring it to a larger platform to help many more people. I’d like to create card decks and publish books in the near future. I also plan on bringing Evolving Movements into life!
Hopefully, things will turn around after this pandemic, and it will all work out in my favor!
