Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaias Barragan.
Isaias, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My family is pretty creative, we’re into all type of art such as painting, drawing to making shoes. We’re well rounded thanks to my mom. I started designing shirts back in high school. By the time I graduated I had a known brand called Golden State of Mind but saw the opportunity to sell it. I regret it but learned my lesson. I’ve learned to love the streetwear industry since I got introduced to it back in 2005, since then I’ve created small brands and sell them to locals. Currently, I own a small brand called Mghty, you can find us on Instagram (@Mghtyofficial), the brand is different than any other brands out there, the brand has a purpose, a message to deliver which is “Always be Powerful, Dominant and Lead with the right purpose.”
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The Fashion/Streetwear industry is never easy road, it’s a very saturated market but that’s what makes it beautiful. Starting a business is one of the hardest things, especially if it’s a one man/woman business, sacrifices have to be done from investing time, losing “friends”, missing family functions, and working after hours, maintaining an optimistic attitude and if we don’t take time to invest in our dreams we will always live in regret.

Mghty is a small independent streetwear brand, the brand is heavily influenced by the culture of Southern California, nature, skateboarding, graffiti, sports, arts and photography. Mghty specializes t-shirts, hats, beanies and eventually I’d like to get into designing our own cut & sew. Mghty is a unique brand because we focus on quality but also promoting positivity rather than drugs, sex, and violence like other brands. Mghty encourages others to always be powerful, dominant and to always lead with purpose.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I don’t think I or the brand has tasted success the way i would like to taste success or the Mighty brand to succeed, but some of the qualities i think it’s important especially in these times is maintaining a positive mind, being stoic about life in general, and maintaining a balanced lifestyle in the seven equities of life which is social life, family, hustle, spiritual life, health, mindset and money.
