Today we’d like to introduce you to Giselle Kongdara.
Giselle, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up, my parents have always had their small business. I’ve been helping my parents since I was four in anything they needed. My parents taught me life isn’t easy and you have to work your way up in life. I become a mom at 16 and always put my son before anything else. My oldest has Autism so working a 9-5 isn’t my best choice and my husband is in the navy and he is always gone. So I decided to kick start my own business from him from the knowledge I have gained from my parents.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every small business has its up and downs. Growing up with my parents being Entrepreneurs, I saw the struggle it comes with. Giving up is never an option; you will see the light and the end of the tunnel. I always remind myself that when it gets really hard.
Gigiscrafting – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I make custom tumbler cups. My cups come plain and I put my vision into a cup that a customer requests. Everything I make is handmade and my customer service is my number one priority because I want people to treat me the way I do. I am proud of where I am in life. I started something I didn’t have any knowledge in.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Taking the leap of faith and starting off. I was scared to start off but look at me I am more stronger and powerful mentally that I ever was. Also, my husband being deployed and doing everything on my own was my biggest success.
