Check Out Kristen Dinglasan’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Dinglasan.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey began last year, at the start of the pandemic. Besides the uncertainty and chaos around the globe, my own personal life was in upheaval. I had a job, which I loved and was exceptional at, however it was tremendously demanding. My happiness was sacrificed in order to continue to perform at such a high standard due to the extreme nature of the job. My stress was at an all-time high and I felt dissatisfied and lost in life. I continuously thought, “How long can I do this for?”

If you would have asked me last year what the future holds, I would have unfortunately told you that “I have no idea.” I felt the immense pressure to just work because that’s what “adults” do, which further cemented my depression caused by my lack of goals. Although I always knew there was more for me in life, I didn’t know what I had to do or where to start in order to discover that. I wanted to start creating the life that I wanted to live.

On July 28, 2020, it all changed for me. I didn’t know it then, but it was the start of how I found my passion. I was masked, checking myself into the hospital for a major surgery I was about to undergo. I was so afraid, Covid-19 was at its highest hospitalization rate, so there weren’t many surgeries taking place unless it was life-threatening. Fortunately, mine was not, but my doctor pushed my surgery as “urgent”, which still speaks to the severity of my case. I was alone, anxious, and terrified. All I wanted was to have my family by my side, but that wasn’t allowed due to Covid. I couldn’t wait for all of it to end. My surgery was a major success, and before I knew it, I slowly woke up to the sight of my older sister picking me up from the hospital. I was ecstatic. It was the best feeling in the world because it meant that I was able to go home.

In the midst of my recovery time, I was starting to feel anxious at the thought of going back to work and how much I would have to catch up on. The time allotted for my recovery wasn’t enough. My doctor said I would need at least 6-9 months until I was completely back to normal, and that was not something my work would approve of, which is understandable, but I was completely unable to perform my duties in the condition I was in. I made the wise choice to leave and focus on healing. My recovery was long and tough. The pain I experienced was the worst part and I had no choice but to take the painkillers the doctors prescribed. I held off on doing this as long as possible because It goes against my homeopathic philosophies and lifestyle, but the pain was unbearable. Using the painkillers was the only way I got through my recovery.

Some time had passed and I still felt like a vegetable, almost as if I wasn’t making progress. I was discouraged and didn’t want to be seen by anyone until I felt like I was 100 percent myself again. I felt incredibly lonely during this time, but I knew patience was key.

After some time, I felt that I needed a detox from the painkillers. I wanted to be done with them. So, I went with my mom to her body sculpting treatment one day, where I met, who would become my instructor. She taught me everything I know now. She performed an abdomen treatment on me to help break down the toxins in my stomach, which then my body would eliminate later, and this is where the real progress started.

I, finally, felt healthy and happy again. That’s when my mom suggested that I start a business of my own providing these same treatments. With her support and guidance, SDBodyglow was born. I had no confidence in myself, but my mom and dad believed in me and really encouraged me to go for it. I’m eternally thankful for them. I am now a certified Body sculpting technician, educator, and proud owner of SDBodyglow. Everything that has happened to me in the past has led me to where I am today. I’m so humbled by where life has taken me through all the ups and downs. I feel incredibly privileged and honored to share my story.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
A challenge for me was overcoming my self-doubt. Dealing with anxiety in the past really helped me get through my fears of starting a business. Practicing self-compassion, being mindful of my thinking, and surrounding myself with people who supported me, gave me confidence. I was being my own harshest critic, and I needed to believe in myself more and just go for it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My line of work at sdbodyglow primarily focuses on treating fat and cellulite while also providing a handful of other beauty treatments. These include lipo cavitation, Brazilian butt lift, wood therapy, radio frequency facials, and radio frequency skin tightening for the body. Our most popular service at sdbodyglow is bodysculpting, which is also known as lipo cavitation. Bodysculpting is a non-invasive and non-surgical treatment to remove fat deposits underneath the skin to aid in inch loss. This procedure works by using ultrasonic radio waves to break apart fat cells, and liquify them so they can then be absorbed into the body. The targeted fat is then directed to the lymphatic system and drained out as waste resulting in lost inches and a slimmer body. Lipo cavitation’s main purpose is to reduce the appearance of fat and cellulite on the body in areas such as the stomach, upper and lower back, thighs, arms, and buttocks.

What makes me most proud about what I do is being able to personally see the physical results following a successful session while noticing drastic improvements to each client’s lifestyle. It truly warms my heart to be able to connect to each client on a personal level and give them the confidence boost and education needed for them to start their journeys.

Sdbodyglow’s non-invasive procedures, such as lipo cavitation, is completely different to similar services out there due to the safety of our services offered. Our procedures offer services with almost zero risks of pain or side effects. There is no downtime or disruption to your life or schedule after each session, and it is much more affordable.
