Conversations with Tobias Platt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tobias Platt.

Hi Tobias, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started to learn how to make beats in April of 2018. I started with this program on my iphone called iMaschine 2. Once I got better, I upgraded to Logic Pro X (which I still used to this day.) By the end of 2019, I stared to work with recording artist from California and Texas. In 2020, I continued to make beats and I also started recording people in San Diego as well. Currently, I’m still producing and recording other artist. I’ve also been making sample packs as well.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Every beat I make isn’t to my liking. That’s just what comes with the territory. Michael Jordan didn’t win every game. He didn’t let that stop his confidence when it came to the game of Basket Ball. I do my best to apply that same logic when it comes to beat making and producing.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a Beat maker/Producer, Audio Engineer, and Sample Maker. What sets me apart from others is my versatility when it comes to beat making and music in general. With the easy access, there is to make music now, it’s a lot easier for many people to do it. This results in more competition in the market. You have to stand out to get noticed. How I stand out is by doing more than one thing. By doing more than one thing, I get a lot more opportunities when it comes to music.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
A big shoutout to God. He has blessed me with many opportunities and put great people in my life which I am very grateful for. My parents are my biggest supporters. They believe in me and my goals and encourage me to be consistent. A big shoutout to all the artists I work with. I wouldn’t be able to brand myself without them making songs to my beats. Also a big shout to my creative homies who keep me motivated and inspired.
