Conversations with Landon Asbury

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taken Days. The band shares their story with us below:

In true SoCal style, Taken Days delivers their own spin on pop punk music. The band’s first full length album ‘Every Second…’ is out now on Wiretap Records (2021). The trio is currently working on pre-production for their sophomore album, with legendary producer Cameron Webb (Motörhead, Pennywise, Alkaline Trio, NOFX) to be released sometime in early to mid 2023.

Made up of 3 working professionals, Taken Days is Corey Glockner (lead vocals, bass guitar), Brent Waterworth (lead vocals, lead guitar), and Landon Asbury (drums).

Coming off of a recent a 2021/22 winter tour, the band has some killer shows lined up for 2022; April 3rd at The Observatory OC as direct support for Lagwagon; May 7th at Hanger 24 in Irvine with Voodoo Glow Skulls; Some out-of-state festivals; plus more to be announced.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The lineup has had its variety of members and arrangements. Beginning in 2017, Corey started the band with some friends with him as the only lead singer/guitar player, and Cameron Korta on bass and backup vocals. Brent joined in 2018 as rhythm guitar and backup vocals, and Landon later in the same year replacing their original drummer. In 2019, Cameron moved out of state, and rather than finding a new bass player, the band decided to move to a 3-piece setup with Corey moving to bass, and Brent to lead guitar.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
High-energy pop punk band with influences including Jimmy Eat World, Green Day, Alkaline Trio, Blink-182, and more. It’s a 90’s skate punk sound with melodic, catchy vocals and varying tempos to keep the fans intrigued and wanting more.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
The band is made up of a banker, fire captain, and real estate broker. Can you guess who is who?
