Today we’d like to introduce you to Quantal Langford.
Hi Quantal, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Origin Story: I’m originally from Cleveland, TN. My wife and I moved to Oceanside in 2014. My design and branding business, Langfordesign, started in 2007, keeping a large amount of my east coast clients, but moving to the west coast had its challenges. Starting over from scratch, I had a hard time reaching out to new people, or at least people I wanted to meet. So, one night me, and my wife at a craft brewery hatched the idea of The Creative Brew-a podcast and video show where I would connect with inspiring creatives, athletes, entrepreneurs, etc. over a beer, a cup of coffee, or tea.
Now The Creative Brew is almost at 150 episodes, connecting with my audience through podcast, video, or radio. I’ve also had the opportunity to partner up with various organizations in Oceanside as well helping to promote local creators, coffee shops, and businesses.
The Creative Brew is also my main content marketing channels, with projects for Langfordesign coming from clients who were past guests on the show.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The creative journey is always paved with windy and bumpy roads at times. While I’ve had my successes, some of the challenges has been searching for the best ways to scale everything that I do on a daily basis. There’s been times where I’ve over-committed myself to projects, where I should’ve passed.
From the business management part, making sure that I work on the things that will bring in revenue instead of trying to do everything. I recently just picked up a large client in the sports industry, on retainer, doing much of their design and branding, so seeing where I can delegate tasks and projects, where I can focus my time on creating and running the business and small brands within the business.

Langfordesign is a multi-displinary branding and media company helps create empowering brand stories. Focusing on developing brand identities, development, and content for B2C, healthcare, sports, non-profit, startups, publishing, and licensing sectors that emotionally resonate with their respective audiences.
Aside from building and development of brands for clients, Langfordesign also creates its own intellectual properties to be packaged for licensing and distribution: Clothing Brand-Just Heart Apparel, Podcast and Radio Show-The Creative Brew, and a sci-fi book series I’m working on called Seed.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
For anyone that’s starting out- I would definitely go back and take a business class, or some kind of entrepreneurial class to mix with my creative work. I had to learn through trial and error, but if I had to go back, I would do that.
Also, for aspiring creatives and entrepreneurs-It’s a full-time job developing and believing in yourself-take it seriously. I’ve known so many talented individuals that didn’t have the right mindset, not believing in themselves or their work. Make time to be your number one fan first.
