Today we’d like to introduce you to Brock and Brandon Veltri.
Brock and Brandon, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We are identical twins and we both worked in college athletics for nearly 20 years. In that time, we designed a number of apparel pieces for our own teams to wear, which all were very popular. Through this process we learned a great deal about varying quality levels of clothing, about production process, and about pricing.
After changing career paths in 2019, we started this t-shirt business during the pandemic. Putting our t-shirt know-how to work for us. Our idea was to create high-quality t-shirts with unique designs (nonbill-boarding) that were made 100% right here in the U.S.A. and that were competitively priced.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was a mostly smooth road to get our website up and running and to get our first products to production. We have been trying to get the word out there using a grassroots approach. We would always love more business, but we are proud of the base we have built thus far. We do feel that once customers try on the shirts, they will be pleased with the look and feel of the product and very happy with the price.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
This is really a “family” run and operated business. Being identical twins in this space, we feel makes us a bit unique. We also are trying to produce a line of clothing for today’s 25–50-year-old crowd that has embraced the t-shirt lifestyle but is tired of the same old shirts from GAP, Banana, Nike, holister, and the such. We really want express the mood on these shirts instead of the brand. Hopefully overtime our customers will be able to recognize the brand.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Don’t be afraid to reach out and connect if you see someone doing something you like. Confident people who love what they do are usually willing to share their story when asked. We have made great connections over the years by just reaching out to people. It has been fascinating to hear some many different stories and approaches to amazing work.
