Community Highlights: Meet LaTanya Hill of IMREIKINOW

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaTanya Hill.

Hi LaTanya, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
When I initially became a Reiki Healer in 2019, I did so at the time to help myself recover from seven years of the pain of rheumatic fever. I was sick and tired of going to treatment where I would receive painful injections that only made me feel normal for a week. I wanted to be completely healed. Being a spiritual person, I meditated and prayed about healing until one day, I was spiritually shown the path of Reiki. As someone who was raised around healers, psychics, and such, I quickly advanced in my healing abilities since I already understood and accepted spiritual healing. Once I began performing self-Reiki as a Reiki Practitioner II, I could feel the Reiki integrating with my treatments, releasing the pain and causing my body to heal faster. Within two months, I was no longer in treatment. Because of this, I became even more curious about this amazing energy and began practicing on others to learn and become a stronger healer.

I became a Usui Holy Fire III Reiki Practitioner II, then a Usui Holy Fire III Reiki Master Teacher, then finally, a Certified Holy Fire III Karuna Reiki Master Teacher. This progression was filled with a lot of healing, studying, practice, and acceptance of who I truly am and what I am meant to do in this life. At first, I did not want to begin a business, I just wanted to help others in their healing process and keep healing myself while honing my spiritual gifts. But the Universe kept bringing people to me and showing me different ways to help. Within the year, I was designing my logo, my website, trademarking my information, and filing paperwork to become an official business while steadily increasing my knowledge to become a Reiki Master Teacher. When IMREIKINOW ® began to flourish with clients and students, I felt as if I was finally living my true life in this world by helping others, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Reiki continually opens doors for me to bring more goodness and positive energy to this world. Through IMREIKINOW ®, I became an expert teacher on one of the leading meditation apps, Insight Timer, where I have posted Reiki meditations and courses to help persons heal from multiple issues. I wrote a handbook, Reiki Vibrations with 33 Meditations and Affirmations, which discusses my healing journey in detail and provides practical information about Reiki, its uses, and how it presents with each person. Reiki Vibrations also offers detailed healing meditations and affirmations that may be used in professional and personal healing practice. This lead to my becoming a contributing writer for Reikirays.com, a global professional organization for Reiki healers of all levels. I have also appeared on a few podcasts, been featured in a few articles, and asked to present in local health fairs. With each good deed, a door is opened to continue helping others.

IMREIKINOW ® is still a young business striving to spread more knowledge about Reiki, spiritual healing, and assisting people in finding their true purpose in this world. Most recently, I am in the process of renovating my “Reiki House” in Yucca Valley, California. It will be available to rent on Airbnb in November 2022. The goal is to offer a private home situated in nature where the view is a mountainous desert full of Joshua Trees, desert vegetation, and local wildlife. Renters will be able to request Reiki and other healing services on their stay. It is a beautiful place to relax and recover from stress and personal traumas.

This “Reiki House” is the first major step for IMREIKINOW ® in that it is laying a concrete foundation for my goal to help as many people as possible by providing a positive and healthy environment full of good healing energy. It is also my way of offering people the opportunity to experience my style of Reiki healing which is intermingled with intuitive spirituality.

I am one person. I am one minority female moving my business forward in order to uphold my spiritual contract to do good in this world with IMREIKINOW ®. I am passionate about personal healing, removing trauma, releasing attachments, and becoming your true self no matter what anyone else thinks about it. I am living proof that Reiki works with and strongly assists western medicine. I want everyone to experience the peace, joy, and happiness that Reiki brought into my life and my business, IMREIKINOW ®, allows me to share this personal gift with the world.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As previously mentioned, Reiki opened a lot of doors for me. The main thing I struggle with is what every new business struggles with – earning enough money from the business to financially support myself and reinvest in it without going into personal funds. At this moment, I am personally reinvesting in IMREIKINOW ® in order to accomplish specific goals. I prefer grants rather than loans, and I work extremely hard to bring in multiple streams of income in the belief that soon, IMREIKINOW ® will be financially independent of my personal accounts.

I also have to overcome the stereotype and internal biases held by others of African-American women in this country. I am extremely gifted in my professional abilities. However, some people believe they can take advantage of me because of my gender and race when it comes to business matters, whether it is my business methodology, pricing, payments due, or contracting work. These type of people speak to me as if I am a child who does not understand what is happening, as if I am pretending to run a business. What they find out while working with me is that I am not just a Reiki healer, but I am also a Juris Doctorate with business knowledge and a strong will to help others in the proper manner. I am not just a healer, I am a writer, a public speaker, a teacher, a business person, an advocate, a mentor, and someone who understands the inner workings of people. They learn that I am not simply a race or gender. I am a human being who has lived many lives in this timeline and who knows how to get things done without hurting others. Presenting this to possible clients, students, and business partners is sometimes daunting because it takes them out of their social programming. But then that is where Reiki comes in to assist and educate everyone involved so the struggle of removing negative social ideologies is felt, but minimized.

We’ve been impressed with IMREIKINOW ®, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I mentioned some of the projects I am continually working on as the sole proprietor of IMREIKINOW ® in an earlier question so I will be brief. My business is an energy healing business that uses Reiki, the Japanese hands-on/hands-off method of transferring Universal energy to others to help people relax and remove energy that does not serve the higher purpose. My Reiki is combined with my intuitive gifts which not only help people release stress, trauma, negative energy, and attachments, it offers the person the opportunity to erase the social programming and re-focus on the goodness from inner spirit. With both clients and students, my goal is to help people find their true gift in this world and learn how to use it in everyday life.

In regards to my students, I certify people from Usui Holy Fire III Reiki Practitioner Level I to Certified Holy Fire III Karuna Reiki Master Teacher. In my classes, I teach the history of Reiki, the proper methods to perform Reiki, how to run a Reiki business, and discovering your spiritual gift in this world. I am most proud of my students. All are all highly skilled healers who have very specific gifts that allow them relate to and to help anyone who has a session with them. Before they are officially certified by me, they know exactly what to do in a session and what to look for if there are more serious issues that need to be addressed. I believe in lots of real-life practice and for students to learn how Reiki “speaks” to each person. Some of my students are now or in the process of becoming Reiki Master Teachers. I am excited to see how they help to continue the cycle of goodness in this world through teaching and becoming a mentor to others. Because of the intimate manner in which I teach and how Reiki continually evolves, I am in the process of writing my own Reiki manual for all persons interested in learning how to practice energy healing, whether they choose to train with me in-person or virtually. This will be a very honest and detailed manual to assist everyone on all levels.

If anyone wanted to schedule a healing session, I hold in-person healing sessions in Los Angeles and its surrounding areas and remote healing sessions for people all over the world through Zoom. If someone wants to become certified as a healer, I offer in-person and remote sessions also. In order to get more people practicing Reiki and healing themselves, I have also listed my Usui Holy Fire III Reiki Practitioner Level 1 certification class on Airbnb under its Experiences section. This is a special class that is taught at various beaches and is geared towards those persons who want to learn how to heal themselves, learn how to use their Universal gift, and help others on a basic healing level.

My particular Reiki combines with my spiritual gifts to offer the client and student the opportunity to reconnect with inner spirit and Universal energy through visualizations and meditations. I have performed Reiki for men, women, children, fetuses in the womb, animals (especially abused dogs), business sites, land sites, and private homes. I have helped those persons who suffer from permanent illness to cross over, and those in pain from surgery or a temporary illness recover quickly while in treatment.

I have also presented to multiple groups about Reiki and energy healing and from time-to-time host Reiki gatherings for healers to practice and the public to personally experience this amazing healing method. As mentioned earlier, I am in the process of finalizing the “Reiki House” for those individuals who want to relax in nature, those seeking personal healing, and companies who offer their employees wellness reimbursements for retreats or alternative healing.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was an original thinker who always seemed to be a little out of the norm. I could easily fit in anywhere because, for me, everyone was the same template – human. I asked and still ask a lot of questions as a learner-type personality and I always move ahead with my plans even when others tell me to tread slowly or that I won’t succeed. I was and am competitive with only myself, ambitious in my goals, and always on the lookout for a moment to improve and learn about who I am as a person. I always wrote short stories, poems, or plays and read every subject imaginable, from science-fiction to Greek tragedies to comic books (I still do when I have time). I loved climbing trees, being in nature, and connecting with my spirit. Even at a young age, I was in tune with the spiritual world and always wondered about why we were here on this planet, who created God, and if it was possible to connect with the spirit world from this reality. There is a saying that “as people grow old, they just become more themselves” or something like that. I am more of me than I ever thought possible. Reiki has allowed me to reclaim my goodness and light. It can do that for you, too.
