Hi Natalie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Hi! I am Natalie Wade and I have always enjoyed picnics since I was a little girl. It is one of my core memories. My parents would pack us up some sandwiches, fruits, meats, and cheeses, and we would find the perfect spot to enjoy the view, the snacks, and most importantly, the company. This was one of the ways I was able to see so much of my city, spend time outside, explore surrounding areas, and spend quality with my family.
This past year, our world and community were reminded how important quality time with our friends and loved ones is… and it seems, we as a community have been so busy, stressed, or full of anxiety regarding the ever-changing world around us.
I wanted to create something that allowed people to take a deep breath and live in the moment with those they love… and a luxury picnic just seemed to be the perfect answer.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a smooth road…. Surprisingly. I had inspiration that made it easy to create a vision behind what I do. I believe in sacred simplicity, and that less is more, which inspired me to create a refined picnic look with inspiration from the sea and the seasons. I am also a photographer and specialize in engagement and lifestyle photography. My passion is creating and capturing authentic and genuine moments… and they say when you love what you do, you don’t work a day in your life.
We’ve been impressed with Longboard Luxury Picnics, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our name is inspired by longboard surfing. Longboarding is a slower-paced, more relaxed style of surfing. Catching a longboard wave makes you grateful for the ocean, your breath, and the very moment itself. The feeling makes you undeniably present. We wanted to create an experience with that same inspiration. To slow down, step away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and celebrate connection by bringing people together in nature. Longboard Luxury Picnics crafts a tasteful and refined picnic setting. We create an enchanting ambience for extraordinary and unforgettable moments. One of our favorite packages is the “Hang Ten” package which includes a unique surfboard-inspired table, combined with neutral-toned retro vibes creates a blissful, quirky, and playful atmosphere.
What makes us unique is our refined picnics designs, our floral arrangements, and ALL of our packages include professional photography to capture the picnic details, and the candid moments between our guests.
