Life & Work with Sweet N’ Juicy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sweet N’ Juicy.

Hi Sweet N’ Juicy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Sweet the Banana: I left my home in the city for the West Coast. My bass and I were on the lookout for new music. While rambling I found a piano playing strawberry and a groove-merchant pineapple drummer named Nefertitipharoahsandramundusifilopolis.

Juicy the Strawberry: We just call him N’ though.

Nefertitipharoahsandramundusifilopolis the Pineapple: They just call me N’.

Sweet: After playing around we decided to do what any decent fruit would do- tour constantly and party with as many humans as possible.

Juicy: For a while, we had this really wild Variety Show in a black box theater in Portland.

N’: We played to Witches in the redwoods and farmers in the high deserts of Nor-cal.

Sweet: Just in 2022 we’ll have played over 220 shows, including 3 West Coast tours. On January 27th, in the year two-thousand and twenty-three, we’re releasing a new album called “Your Mom’s Gonna Love Us”.

N’: We’re bowling it down the middle for America.

Juicy: Down the Middle.

Sweet: Yep, right down the middle for America.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Juicy: There was that time that the car broke down.

Sweet: And that other time the car broke down.

N’: One time we thought we were gonna have to skip town because they didn’t care too much for fruit.

Juicy: Another time we played to nobody after driving forever.

Sweet: And It’s hard to record and write new music when we spend most of our year on the road.

N’: It’s true.

Juicy: Buuuuuut, we also meet some really cool people on the way.

N’: Also, true.

Juicy: Aaaaaaand, nothing beats playing with you two.

Sweet: Fruit gotta stick together.

N’: Truer still.

Sweet: It’s all about the party, baby.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
N’: We play party music and tour constantly. That probably sets us apart from other bands.

Sweet: I think it’s safe to say we’re the hardest-working band from the Pacific Northwest.

Juicy: We play music for the humans who like to get down. We don’t write about politics or finance-

Sweet: We don’t tell you how to vote.

Juicy: Exactly, we don’t care. We just want you to have a good time.

N’: We specialize in the party. We’re already fruit, what do you have to lose?

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Sweet: Quit everything and just play.

Juicy: Yep!

Sweet: That’s what I did in the city. I finally realized one day that if I wanted to play full-time, all I had to do was play full-time. Seems obvious now, but then it was a revelation.

N’: Pbbbbbbbbbbbbbt!

Juicy: And practice, yeah. Practice and play with everyone you can for forever and always.
