Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexie Wilson.
Hi Lexie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
For me, it all started in 2016. I was working as a social worker & family therapist in the Child welfare system. Although I loved helping my kids and families learn how to overcome their emotions and navigate the Court systems to promote a safe home for children – I wanted more autonomy and freedom than my job could allow.
I was experiencing a spiritual awakening at the time, although I didn’t realize it. I started to lose interest in simply using psychology to help my clients and I wanted to explore alternative modalities to support my clients in feeling emotionally validated. However, I was limited. I was limited both by the current position I was in AND the beliefs that the company I was working for had.
I also knew I wanted to become a full-time entrepreneur. I was exhausted from working 50+ hours a week and struggling to afford basic necessities like rent in a safe neighborhood, healthcare, and healthy groceries. I knew a change was needed and me being the Capricorn I am – I knew that the one way I could create unlimited income and creative control- was through Entrepreneurship.
This led me to begin thinking of ways to use my Master’s in Marriage & Family Therapy as an Entrepreneur. Of course, I could start my own Therapy practice but there was a lot of things I’d have to consider with insurance and state laws. I didn’t want someone controlling how I could serve my community, so I decided against that route.
Which is an even better thing; since I would go on to spend the next 6 years moving from various states (Georgia to Florida to Chicago back to Florida back to Chicago back to Florida and finally California! lol) which would’ve been hell to deal with in regards to my licensure.
And so Life Coaching became the best option for me and my clients. At the time, I didn’t know a whole lot about using social media to make money online – so I hired a coach and learned ways to find clients through content marketing. Consistency led to me getting my first ever coaching client and thus – I was bitten by the Entrepreneur bug!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely has NOT been a smooth road. The truth is; I’ve had a very hard life. I was born into a cult and raised in an abusive home. Although I did have a lot of privileges and on the outside, my childhood looked great (I was a gymnast, on drama team, in symphony, etc.) the truth was inside my home there was a lot of pain.
My parents were dealing with a lot of their own traumas and as a result – emotional and physical abuse was normalized. This created a lot of internal anger, self-doubt, and negative self-talk that made it hard for me to have the courage or confidence to create the life (and ultimately the business) that I wanted.
Being a Creative Entrepreneur requires a LOT of self-belief and tenacity because there is no blueprint to success. Something that works for one may not work for another and you have to have the drive and passion to keep going when that reality hits you.
For me, it was hard not knowing HOW to make money, where to find clients, and even doubting that I COULD make money as a Spiritual Intuitive Coach. Especially since I’m an Astrologer. For years, I was taught that Astrology was evil and so I had to learn how to overcome my OWN programming in order to embrace my True self.
That took a LOT of years of coaching and therapy to work through. And it took a LOT of mistakes. However, without those mistakes, I would not have learned how to face my challenges head-on and gain the lessons required to create sustainable success.
Hiring the wrong coaches who pushed me to “hustle” and go past my limits “just to make a dollar” was a lesson I HAD to learn. It taught me DISCERNMENT and to vet if my coach is truly meeting MY needs and not just someone “popular” online.
Working with clients, I didn’t enjoy was a lesson that taught me BOUNDARIES. I learned that just because someone is willing to pay DOES NOT mean you should accept their money. Coaching is a personal business; you become part of each other’s lives, so make sure that you are choosing to work with individuals you LOVE.
And feeling desperate for money – going through the cycle of Feast and Famine… that taught me the POWER of reoccurring income, payment plans, and passive income! haha When you’re an entrepreneur, there IS no PTO. So, you create it for yourself, so you can still maintain money coming in – even when you need to take a break to move across the country (like I did) or if you have health issues (which is also another challenge I had to face).
As you know, we’re big fans of The Lexie Wilson, Inc. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I’m an Astrologer and Coach who helps spiritual business owners use astrology to create a successful purpose drive life and business. That’s a lot of words to simply say, “I help people make money using Astrology.” hahaha
My thing has always been about being YOURSELF. I grew up in a cult, so my entire childhood I wasn’t ALLOWED to truly be myself. My gender was “wrong,” my sexual preferences were “wrong,” the way I questioned everything was “wrong.” And so, I felt so “evil” for just BEING.
No one should have to feel like that.
This is what drives me to help my clients understand what makes them UNIQUE by looking at their Birth Chart. Your Birth Chart is what the sky looked like at the time of your birth. Most people know their Sun Sign – but the other planets were ALSO in Zodiac signs, and they all influence how you love, how you think, where you feel called to work, etc.
My job is to help you SEE who you are and validate your Purpose so you can go out and actually DO IT.
I believe that the dreams you have in your heart are the Whispers of your soul, a compass calling you towards the life you’re here to create. They create the motivation to overcome the challenges because it’s your Destiny and I’m part of helping you SEE that.
What makes me different is that I don’t simply use Astrology to TELL you about yourself. Because of my background in Therapy, I also show my clients HOW they can USE their astrology to cope with stress, overwhelm, complicated family dynamics and relationships, etc. I provide practical steps to help my clients overcome the things they struggle with.
For example; if I have an Aries Sun client who feels disappointed that she was passed up, yet again, for a promotion…. 1) I know that her desire for leadership and upward mobility is innate BECAUSE of this placement. As an Aries, she is DESIGNED to lead her community and she won’t stop till she does. 2) Because it is part of her purpose to be seen for her leadership, I can also help her process her intense emotions and create a pathway towards success. I can help understand that the Fire and passion she feels is not just cause she’s excited – but it’s part of who she IS. Which means it’s meant to be expressed but it must be expressed to SERVE her and her community so I’ll show her ways that she can use her passion, drive, and ambition to get what she wants from her job AND cope with the intensity of her emotions.
I’m not just here to “tell you your future.” lol
I’m here to empower you and show you that even your perceived “Weaknesses” are designed for your Rise.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
To PROTECT YOUR ENERGY. Whew! I used to be available for ANYONE who would have me. Events, clients, groups, etc. Listening to everyone and not protecting your energy is a fast way to burnout, financial ruin, and depression.
First off, listen to people you ADMIRE. People who are living THEIR dreams. Most of the world is filled with people who are NOT living the life they want. They’ve resigned to their circumstances and believe that it’s impossible. They hold onto that because it does feel safer, and I get it. I’ve wanted to quit soooo many times simply because I’ve had a lot of hardship. However, if you keep finding yourself DREAMING about owning your own business, working with certain people, using your gifts, being yourSELF, or living in a place that makes you feel SAFE – PROTECT YOUR VISION.
You do that by prioritizing the advice of those who have NOT given up. They don’t have to be living the same exact dream you want to create for yourself; but just being in the presence of those who kept going – despite hardship, will propel you to do the same.
Second of all, following your intuition can lead to a lot of loneliness but so can ignoring your intuition in order to please others. There is no worse feeling than being in a room full of people and feeling disconnected. This is what happens when you continue to spend time with people who are sucking the life out of you. Choose your friends wisely. This includes your family members. Family MAY have your best interest at heart (and that’s not always true, so keep that in mind) but the reality is – they can only see as far as they have been willing to push themselves to see.
If they never pursued their dreams or they did and failed – they will tell you that will be your fate too.
If they’ve never seen success done in an unconventional way – they will tell you that it’s impossible, etc., etc.
However, you can’t let these people influence the decisions you make in your life. THIS IS YOUR LIFE. THIS is IT. You don’t know what’s coming after this moment or the next. And you have no idea what happens once we all close our eyes for the final time. Don’t waste your life living in the “What if’s?”
