Inspiring Conversations with Dillon Taylor of Kona Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dillon Taylor. 

Hi Dillon, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Last February, my fiancé and I made a cross-country road trip to San Diego for a military move. Before we left the east coast and headed west, we searched Zillow and Trulia for hours, trying to find an apartment that matched what we were looking for. We had no knowledge of San Diego neighborhoods, which locations were safe, or what rent price was fair for the area. There was no support, guidance, and nobody we could rely on to help us find a safe, affordable home. 

That’s why we created Kona. 

Through first-hand experience, we felt the overwhelming emotions of frustration and anxiety when searching for our home. That’s why Kona is dedicated to providing you with industry-leading knowledge and support, placing your experience first. 

To get started, we are offering free renter services for everyone searching in the San Diego area. 

Additionally, we leverage data analytics and deploy innovative negotiation strategies to provide you with an exceptional buying and selling experience. 

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
As I transition out of the military and into the position of chief executive officer of Kona Realty, I have faced tremendous challenges. 

There is a great deal of uncertainty involved in beginning your own business; you worry about being able to support your family, establishing a risk tolerance for innovation efforts, and wonder if your business model will prove to be effective. 

Thankfully, I have a fiancé who is incredibly supportive and provides me with confidence when it’s most needed. 

It was also difficult shifting my purpose from being deeply embedded in the military to real estate. But what has given me strength is the fact that I am continuing my purpose of serving others by providing free renter services to those who are struggling to find a home. 

We are truly dedicated to making a positive impact in the world. That’s why we will be supporting various channels of non-profits and organizations that align with our vision. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Kona, we are truly dedicated to making a positive impact in the world. That’s why we will be supporting various channels of non-profits and organizations that align with our vision, such as Homes for Heroes, Second Chance Rescue, Pawsitive Teams, and others. 

We are determined to create a team of individuals that are truly ambassadors to our community. We exist to serve the people within our community and lead with incredible market knowledge, integrity, and absolute transparency. 

In addition, we are taking on a responsibility that few real estate agents and teams choose to do by providing a free renter service to anyone who is searching for a rental in San Diego. 

Helping renters navigate the complexities of renting, making a positive impact on our community, and addressing a gap in the market. That’s what Kona Realty’s free expert renter support is all about. 

In addition to renters, Kona also specializes in working with home buyers and sellers. Not only are we dedicated to supporting our clients, but we are using innovative data analytics to make better decisions on when to sell and where to buy. 

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Many people don’t know that my fiancé and I both rescued a puppy, Charlie, from Tijuana through Second Chance Rescue. 

She is a huge reason as to why we created a service-based company that is determined to give back and support the local community. 

We are dedicated to making your home whole, and a phenomenal way for us to do that is by supporting local animal rescues that align with our values and purpose.
