Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriell Simons.
Hi Gabriell, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Growing up in the rural south, I grew up on canned veggies, poor quality food and was surrounded by conventional farms. Most of my life, I had poor digestion, chronic sinus infections and was only ever given a pharmaceutical route. Not once was there any question about my diet, my environment, how much water I was drinking, or how nourished I was-inside and out. It wasn’t until I moved to San Diego and attended Healing Hands School of Holistic Health where I really connected with my body, my environment, and where my nourishment comes from! This has ignited the fire in me to connect deeper with the land and those that tend to it. Bringing the nourishment to the people and regenerating our soils so that generations to come may thrive and live a more nutrient-dense life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Many years of chronic stomach pain and struggles, Years of cystic acne, and fear of going out in public without makeup on. Constant antibiotic and steroid use that created a more long-term problem that needed healing. I had to have a complete lifestyle and mindset shift, to heal the root of what I was experiencing. Every symptom is the body trying to communicate us- we just have to really listen and open with curiosity for expansion and healing.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I have been a Holistic Health Practitioner for over 8 years. That has weaved into bodywork, mineral nutrition consultations, and personal cheffing. The last 2 years I have had the honor of working with a Regenerative Ranch here in San Diego, Perennial Pastures. Anything that weaves Food, Farms, and Families, IM IN. This work fill my cups.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I loved growing up on 6 acres in the forest in rural Georgia. Our property backed up to the Appalachian River, and most of my childhood memories I am outside. Playing in the river, building forts in the woods with my brother, or tending to the garden with my grandmother.
